I agree, i have a Vodaphone sim card which i still use. For the most part, i get good service.
To clarify what i said, dont buy the phone from Vodaphone. Buy it from another operator or sim free. Then, get it unlocked and stick your own Vodaphone sim card in. Thats what i always do with new phones.
Some K700i phones arent too bad branding wise, but i've seen a guy's K700i who i work with and the whole SE icon interface has been replaced with the Sharp GX30 interface - red and white icons that cannot be changed. He also cannot use MP3s as ringtones.
I'd never buy a Vodaphone branded phone anymore, unless the branding suited the phone (the V800 was quite a good example of not too bad branding IMO).
Btw, if you shop around you can get any phone cheaper than buying from retail shops or the operators. I always recommend http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk because 9 times out of 10 you can get a contract phone from them for free, where in the shops you'd have to pay £40-£200 for the same phone and tarrif.
I also have links to cheap PAYG and sim free websites, but they links not working.

good points etaab.
The vodafone icons are crud it's true. And I've got heaps of time to save up before the w800 get's here ( ), so no reason I should settle.
