I wonder why are waiting untill Q2 to release the z800. The firmware is already out there and the hardware has been in the v800 for months now, so why cant they release the phone now.

yes!! my dream phone !! i thnik se r trying to improve the phone,exp camera,mp3 quality etc..so they have to release on q2.. |

They also have to produce a load of handsets, canīt releese a phone they havent manufactored, need a big load, to send to stores all over the world..

I think thats far from the reason, the simplest answer probably still lies with the Vodafone exclusivity..they probably still have the rights for a few more months.

They shall be releasing it in Q2, which should be around March-April, but i wouldnt be surprised if it takes longer than that!

If i remember right the "i" stands for international - in other words its sold everywhere else outside of Asia.
There is no reason why SE cannot release the Z800i now, the phone already is out under the V800 name with Vodaphone. We'll just have to wait until Vodaphones exclusivity rights have ended.
I reckon it'll be available from the end of March.

Because networks will want to deal with Sony Ericsson, shipping to networks, Orange branding to be added, advertisements to be made, pricing to be figured, shops to be notified!
There is so much work involved!
