Ok...here are the facts :

4k SIM's-> Older SIM's Capable of GPRS, EDGE, CSD, HSCSD etc. Basically everything 2g and 2.5g. 60 Contacts, 5 SMS's

16k SIM's: Old, but not too old, Capable of everything the 4k can do, but has 150 Contacts and 10 SMS's and SIM Service's.

32k SIM's : Like wise with 250 contacts and 10 messages and Enhanced SIM services.

64k and 128k SIM's : more enhanced then even 32k

U-SIM's : Only CDMA and WCDMA. Have 1xRTT and UMTS data.

Hope everything is clear now.

I have 250 contacts and 20 sms available on my SIM. That's standard here in Estonia. When the GSM started, in the 90's, we had the older version with about half the capacity. I don't see how different SIM cards are related to having wap or gprs, the SIM is only there to identify you on the network (and perhaps to store the most important contacts). All the settings for GPRS, WAP and MMS are on the phone. At least that's how it is in Estonia.

If Debu's assertions are right, I owe everyone here an apology for touting falsehood. I got my submissions from an article on mobile services in a publication. Guess that casts a shadow on the credibility of that publication...

How to check that? The only thing I know about my SIM is, that it can have max 250 contacts and max 20 SMS.
