hmmm... I guess you have a better view of the database than me but what I did was I waited for a quiet moment and then watched for one post. The moment that post was made the forum header showed 1,000,055 and the post id of that post was 1088804 which is how I came up with the difference of 88749 and thus derived the result I posted earlier.
I actually did the same a few minutes earlier and used this second identical result as confimration of my answer so I'm not sure where I was wrong in my logic but perhaps its just difficult to pin down exactly

@masseur
The difference of 6 post may be caused by the time of counting. Your count was done last evening while I did mine this morning. It might be that another moderator deleted a topic with 6 post last night. |

@laffen & @masseur
I already solved the problem of how to get the milionth post in the other thread:
«About the question of the milionth post being cleaned by being in garbage or so.
It's easy to get the milionth post.
(@laffen)
Use the same query you use to get the total number of posts (the one presented in the forum home) which are already "cleaned".
Then, just order them by ID and get the milionth position.
Easy, huh?
P.S.-Better to do it after the daily cleanup. If the number of posts is kept above the million, then use the method.

That is exactly what laffen did (I've seen the sql queries) but as he mentioned, any posts that were removed from the database, that were prior to the 1 millionth post, between me doing my analysis and him doing his will give the difference in our results
since I did my analysis about 5 to 10 minutes after the 1 millionth post was made that my result is possible my result might be more accurate since no posts are likely to have been removed in that time but its difficult to be 100% sure
the important thing I guess is that we hit a huge milestone
other milestones we can achieve would seem to be more than 1000 online users (current max since the data was reset some time ago is 833 which occurred just a couple of weeks ago) and 100,000 members, but that will probably take another 3 years!

@methylated_spirit: Feels really nice.
Mostly I feel elated for being a part of ESATO, which is over a million posts old.
