I imagine an Esato meeting might actually be rather awkward; apart from mobile phones, what would we all talk about?

I actually expect we'd all get along fine with so many other topics to discuss as I suspect very few of us are such sad gits to be limited to phones alone. Actually I rarely talk about phones away from this forum
I know when I meet new friends or colleagues, or friends of my wife etc, I get along just fine and often am dissapointed when it comes time to depart.
my internet philosophy just revolves around a privacy issue I have which is very hard to overcome and even sending out playtime prizes I make sure my wife (who posts them) doesn't put a return address on them

What so sad about making new friends?...After all its people you chat to day in day out ,week after week,years go by!...We prob spend more time chatting to fellow esatonians then some people we know personally...whats wrong with meeting someone you chat to on a daily basis?I think i have made some good friends here and would like to meet some of them, what wrong with that?

Yes, we did. It was quite fun to meet a few of the ones you talk to everyday in here in person.
The idea was adopted from the Eye Ball meetings of the Pinoy guys and I think it can be a sucsess in other places too.
We were lucky to get  to host us and we invited a coupple of network suppliers to tell us a bit about their products. (Only NetCom accepted the invite...)
If any of you want to arrange it and need a coupple of tips I'mk happy to help through PM.
I'm not as descrete as Masseur in here.
My Playtime prize packs have my return address on and I have forund that handy a coupple of times 
Who I'd like to meet in person is Masseur. We've been working together as mods for a while and got to know each other fairly well but never actually met.

That isn't a bad idea for a UK meeting, getting SE involved I mean. Perhaps it is something we should look into, they might be interested in lots of SE fans wanting to meet up and hear about their products.

I think it's a brilliant idea. I should imagine a rep from SE would love to take part, after all where else would you find a hard-line public forum dedicated to SE.
ITINERY:
11:00 - 11:30, SE UK Bash begins with signing in and collecting of name badges.
11:30-12:30, Introduction by ESATO rep and chance to find your fellow fave Esatonians.
12:30 - Buffet and Drinks.
13:30 - "The future of Mobile Personal Telecommunications", a presentation by Sony Ericsson, including exclusive revealing of the long awaited replacement for the P9XX series.
14:00 - Technical helpdesk. Help with problems and issues related to you SE mobile.
15:30 - More food and drinks.
16:30 - Competition for the chance to win a tour of one of SE's R & D HQ.
The competition being a giant Bluejack paintball fight. Last person not to receive a Contact saying BLUEJACKED is the winner.
More drinks and Winners presentation.
17:30 Farewells.
Or something like that, he he he, but must have lots of drinks involved.
