Of course many people will say that their own country is the best place to live, but being objective I would really have a hard time saying that America is the best place to live; unless one is very rich of course.

America definitely IS the best place to live in!!!! (for a limited number of privileged people it is)
For all other slobs america is hard work, no guarantees.
Having that said.... my won country isn't so great either 
And once I know where Kim is settling I might consider moving someplace else

although I have worked in many many countries and travelled to many other, USA has never much appealed despite being offered work and visas and stuff. been a few times to the usual places, LA, SF, Boston, NY but really had no feeling of wanting to stay
@vlammetje, you'd be welcome in Australia I am sure  I'm going home for a week in March and I think MixiN is going in May and there's plenty of others that will welcome you!

I actually rather like in Britain. The weather may be awful, trains are frequently late, the hospitals are falling to bits, more and more people are increasingly disillusioned by the political process and we are taxed ever more, but then again there is no other place like it.
Having said all that, I wouldn't mind living in Japan.

I've actually always been quite fond of the UK for no apparent reason and my few precious visits don't quite explain it. I guess I'm a nutter 
But australia does appeal........

@kimcheeboi - Well, for a START, the mod's should have given you a nice ITINERARY back then  You are very much welcome in my turf - Manila! Where life is so EASY, you can sleep the whole day and don't have to worry much 'bout money, as it comes quite easy, compared when living in the US, wherein you are obliged to have 2 or more jobs in order to survive . . . here no, you just have to have 3 ammunitions and 2 accomplices to rob a small bank! |

I quite like Britain; I travel quite often and the thing that never fails to amaze me is how much I miss Blighty when I'm abroad.
