Seems se will stop it. T was the last link to /// imo.
Why is that Bob? Because the T610 was the T68s replacement? |

I don't think SE will stop producing the T6** series of handsets, especially if the South America launch as just got off the ground. With the T6** being a few years old now, SE must have recouped the huge amount of money they forked out initially for design & development costs of this range of handsets and must be making a handsome profit. It is a manufacturer's nightmare for the opposite to happen.
SE must be very pleased with itself, having conjured up a very successful handset which, according to Milmino's Krusell figures is outselling Nokias bestseller, is no mean feat. |

Is the K700 not a smaller T650?
From what I have seen of the pictures that were posted on ESATO in July last year, they do look quite similar in all aspects apart from size.
It looks like quite a large handset judging by those same pictures, infact it looks larger than the V800.
Now, considering there has been no large amount of publicity regarding the T650, with no further knowledge of it's specifications, it would be difficult to predict what impact it will have at launch, in a market where the latest handsets are boasting the multi-functionality of streaming video, video calling etc and it looks like a large handset.
If it does have these capabilities then given it's candybar form factor and size, smaller handsets are either already available or just around the corner.
If the T650 isn't capable of utilizing 3G technology then it is hard to see what a T650 'can' do that the K700 isn't 'doing' already.
With the T610 SE made a huge impact on the market by combining a no nonsense handset, simple exquisite design, quality materials, a plethora of features, in a small candybar form-factor, which when launched a few years ago was quite outstanding - hence it's popularity and current sales performance. With the T610 they seem to have got the recipe "just right".
I find hard to imagine, what marvel SE will create today to have the same success as the T610, but it will have to be something special.
3G seems to be the next big thing and unless the T650 takes this onboard then it will have a fight on it's hands to succeed in the current market place so I believe the T650 was a prototype for the K700. It looks almost the same, maybe it was a pre K700 styling exercise.

What makes me suspicious about that picture of the T650 is the fact there are no features on the side of the phone such as the wap access button etc, so it was probably a mock-up of some sort. |

I'd say the T610 has all the reasons in the world to stay in production-it's still very good on the technical side and very cheap but i guess :se: has to discontinue it cuz it challanges the newer models and doesn't allow the low-end market to sell.

T610 and/or t630 could be the new 't230' next to k, s and f models.

Is SE still producing T610?, it's a good product with great sales, why taking it off the market?
