Ok. Last night's game's over.

What do you think about today's game?
I think that Greece will win, but it'll be a tough match for both teams. [addsig]

I dont know, i come to this thread and all i see is people slagging each others teams off.

My views on the game last night are, Portugal played a good game and on that ground alone deserved to win. However, this doesnt automatically make England crap. I strongly believe that England are one of the top 5 teams in the world, we have some of the best players and pull together as a team when necessary.

I dont think we rely on Wayne Rooney, hes just the jewel in the crown of our attack. England have always been a good footballing side but more often than not, its our own fault we lose.

Last night we lost to Portugal not because of how well they played, but how bad England played. It was not one of our better performances. Our midfield was certainly shakey meaning there was no delivery to our strikers except for long balls.

The game was one England should have won, as they are a better team than Portugal with more skilled players, yet because they didnt get their act together, they got themselves knocked out of the tournament, which they do deserve if they play poorly.

Its Englands own fault yes, but we should have won, albeit undeservedly with that Sol Cambell goal which the Swiss referee shouldnt have disallowed. Maybe his revenge for the England V Switz game ?

Yes its hard to get motivated to watch the rest of it now your own team is out.

Personally i want Holland to win now (since i have dutch ancestors), but i dont think they'd beat France.

Tonights scoreline, 2-2 full time, France to win 3-2 with the silver ball rule in the first half of ET.

As i said in another thread this was the finals game to be.
England was playing very well, and Portugal was in a "crescendo" too.

Rooney is a great player, but he's too young to take Englnad's team on his shoulders, that's up to Beckham, Scholes, etc...

About England being a better team than Portugal...hmmm..ok... it's your opinion. Should i remind you that half the Portuguese team won the UEFA cup last year and the Champions League this year
Maybe they're not that bad after all...

As long you blame other parties for your losses, things will stay the same, and you won't notice that Scholes was null as Beckham was, or Gerrard was, or Lampard was.

But this is just my opinion.
All in all, i think our toughest game in the whole cup would be with England, and we won it... [addsig]

Like i said, i blame England for the loss, not Portugal.

Portugal simply played how they always play, strong and determined with some flair.

Englands defence played well, the back 4 for me were the best men on the pitch but our midfield let us down badly, except for Frank Lampard who i thought played very well.

Ive never thought Michael Owen was a world class player, hes just a good striker.

Tell me.. how many World and European finals or semi-finals has Portugal been in ? Get the picture ?

England better team than Portugal???? AH AH AH AH AH AH

That´s the british humor that i like so much...keep it going...

All the world says it was fault, except YOU...you have lots of awfull players in your team, like Campbell, James, the Neville brothers, etc...how come you ever thought to win a tournment with classy teams like Portugal, France, Czech Republic, etc???? Pathetic...

Look how you played last night...i expect to never hear you again criticizing Italy for their stile of football...you´re the same, but without the class italian players.

A funny email running around our office:

[EMAIL]
“I didn’t touch the keeper and neither did Sol. The ref wouldn’t explain why he ruled it out and we’re all totally mystified.”
TV pundits Peter Reid, Ian Wright and Alan Hansen all agreed England had been cheated.

We are forced to conclude that the hand around Ricardo's neck, is in fact his own, trying to suffocate himself!!!

Thats the sort of childish post id expected when i came online.

How many world cups did Portugal win again ? And do you honestly believe Portugal are in the same league as teams like France, England and the South American teams such as Argentina and Brazil.

When you lose to France in the semi finals 5-0 i dont think you'll be classing Portugal as one of the best teams

Even Spain played better in Euro 2004 than Portugal !
