Anther problem with my K700 is that when I use Bluetooth to create an Internet connection from either my laptop or my IPAQ (whilst it works perfectly) when I drop the connection the K700 restarts itself and comes back on with Bluetooth turned off. Has anyone else found this or is it a unique fault on my phone?

When I try to pair my laptop with my K700, the phone freezes. I have to take out the battery to make the phone restart. It happens all the time. Solution is to make the pairing from the phone, not the computer. It must be a bug.

Also, randomly while the phone is connected to my laptop using bluetooth the phone restarts with bluetooth turned off. It doesn't happen often, but it happens, and it's annoying! This also has to be a bug.

The people at Sony Ericsson also failed a lot with their spelling on dialogs that appear on the phone. At least for the Swedish language. Try deleting a ringtone that's assigned to a contact and you'll see. It looks silly.

These are the problems I have had with the K700 so far:
1) The phone freezes, have to remove the battery. Happened three times since in five days. It might be because of BT problems, as it happened when it was communicating with my laptop.
2) The phone restarts after (what I remember) taking a picture (right after pressing the camera button to take the picture). Happened twice twice in five days.
3) Random lag in the meny on occation. Nothing happens for a while, then all the key-commands from the last few seconds are executed at once.
4) Battery lasts for about two days with "medium playing around". On the other hand, I'm just on my second charge cycle yet.

It's also important to point out that when I bought the phone I missused the battery in the following ways:

1. I used the battery without charging it first (to fix the phonebook etc).

2. After that I charged the battery only until it was fully charged. I didn't charge it the recommended 15 hours right out of the box. (Does anybody do that?)

I don't know if the above has anything to do with the fact that my battery drains fast. Just wanted to point this out since I complained a lot about the battery capacity and some people say that the battery is fine. You who have the same problem as me, try to think if you missused the battery from the beginning as I did.

Well I've now had the chance to test this on three K700i phones. The original was from Hong Kong and the two others are O2 supplied.

Every time when I connect to the Internet through the phone using Bluetooth, the phone restarts with the Bluetooth turned off after I have disconnected from either my IPAQ or the Laptop(IBM).

This is obviously a bug, does anyone know how to report this to SE?

This is definitely a problem with the K700. I've tried exactly the same pages on my T610 and they work fine. On the K700 the HTML lite login page refuses to load and the wap page loads but won't accept a valid username/password combination. It's not a network operator issue as I used the same SIM in both phones.

I noticed that when logging in thru the wap page, when it asks you for your password, it defaults to CAPS. If I change it to lowercase and enter password it works fine. I had it bookmarked with username and password (beamed it over from my Z600) and it was working fine, so tried it manually and found out about the CAPS default on the password field.

For those having problems logging in thru the wap page, see if this is also the problem for your phone.

I would call O2 or SE customer care and report it. Either way should eventually get back to SE.

Does everybody here get the red LED to shine when the the pnone is charging? I did a visit to my Phonehouse store today and their K700 that they have in the store did not have a red LED shing when the phone was charging, and mine does not have one wither. But I have seen K700's that have a red LED that turns on when charging. Is this a software problem or a hardware problem?

My phone have the R2A041 firmware.

okay ppl, pls, gimme more abt the battery...
i've got a feeling that it won't do over one day.
even my 6230 lasted for 2 days only.it has a 850 mAh battery and a way smaller screen.
so it makes me wonder, how can SE release a phone with a huge screen compared to nokia 6230, but have a battery with much smaller (670 mAh) capacity.

I love my phone!!! I haven't had any issues really except for the following:

battery life
-------------------
well so far it's kinda sucky but it's only been through one deep charge cycle so i'm not too concerned yet. Plus i've been playing around with it quite a bit and talking on it quite a bit as well.. so i am happy with its performance thus far considering what i've been using it for.

Bluetooth FREEZING when Pairing issue
----------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure what you guys use for bluetooth but i have a dlink bluetooth adapater for my PC. When i choose to manually pair the phone from the PC, my phone freezes and i have to take out the battery and restart it. However, if i choose to just browse the phone and i browse into the files folder, my bluetooth automatically detects that it needs authentication (pairing) and it will ask me to enter a passcode on the PC, then the phone will detect this pairing initiation and ask me to enter a passcode. It then adds my PC as a device without a hitch. It's worked consistently this way for me...

PC remote control
-------------------------
I found that u have to actually enable the service on the PC first before u can actually start it from the phone. But it only takes one time initialization on the PC, thereafter the phone can start the remote control service on its own. i didnt read the manual for this part so it might be in there.. jus thought i'd share

hopefully i can post all this and more when i redo my website..

Well, I have the same problem as CyberVisitor with battery life...of course I did not stick with 15 hours or whatever continuous first charging and my batter - at least according battery indictor - hardly lasts one day, actually from morning till the late evening....it is the most horrible battery performance i have ever experienced....i have to charge every night, except of weekends when I am not using phone "so much"
otherwise the phone is very complex and great....

Look at your phone - there are no leds ! You cannot have seen a K700 with any red leds on while charging - cause there arent any.
On the t610 the led was build into the joystick - on the k700 there are no led in the joystick. So this is neither a software nor a hardware error - simply a question of the K700 not having a led that can turn on.

@TheRealSpawn, there is a red led next to the power button on top.

I've only seen it once while charging (not sure why I haven't seen it since) but it does flash when you do the "LED/illumination" service test
