I'm in love with this phone.
Is as stylish as it can be, besides the excelent specs...
But Q4?!??!? Come on, it'll be outdated when it's out, just like the SX1.
No one will notice it...

Official Sony Ericsson press release
Sony Ericsson today unveiled the S700 camera phone with QuickShare™ and innovative swivel-opening design. It offers a stylish and unique three way communication style; photo shoot, browse and talk, or text and e-mail. The S700 also takes mobile imaging to the next level, featuring an integrated 1.3 megapixel CCD digital camera for taking high quality photos and a 2.3 inch 262K TFT colour screen to display digital quality images. Compatibility with Memory Stick DuoTM extends the memory capacity of the S700 to fully support this new style of mobile imaging.
The innovative 180º swivel design enables users to enjoy three completely new styles of communication, each perfectly adapted to offer the ultimate in simplicity and user-friendly functionality. With the phone closed, it is possible to view messages, browse menus, and make calls via 5-way navigation easily manipulated by thumb or single finger, or to use the soft keys under the LCD screen for intuitive interaction. Then, turn the phone over to enjoy a new mobile imaging style based on the tried and tested digital camera form factor which enables photos to be taken with a steady, two-handed grip just like an ordinary camera. Finally open in a swivel motion to access the phone’s key pad for easy texting or e-mails. This innovative three way design allows users to enjoy the best usability for every phone application.
The S700 is the result of working in close cooperation with Sony Corporation’s camera experts. Its 1.3 megapixel CCD camera delivers enhanced picture quality (1280 x 960 image size). When opening the camera lens shutter, the ‘camera-mode’ is automatically activated and the screen changes to ‘view-finder’ function with a familiar horizontal digital still camera graphic interface. As a QuickshareTM product, the S700 is extremely easy to use; just one click to take a picture and a couple more to send the image on. To further enhance the imaging experience, the S700 comes with photo light to enable photography in dark environments, 8x digital zoom and a 2.3 inch 262K TFT colour screen capable of displaying detailed images with amazing clarity. It is also possible to stream and capture video clips.
Compatibility with MemoryStick Duo, Bluetooth and infrared means the S700 offers a wide range of connectivity options so images or video clips can be stored or transferred for editing and easy enjoyment on a PC or other consumer devices.
With a 3D gaming engine from Hi Corp, the S700 is also the ultimate gaming device and comes loaded with embedded Java games plus the capability to download additional gaming packages from Sony Ericsson’s Fun & Download web site. The phone offers a host of additional exciting entertainment applications such as an MP3 music player, mobile music service, Music DJTM ring tone composer, and 40 polyphonic ringtones.
“The S700 will revolutionize the phone market by introducing cutting edge mobile phone technology from Japan to a new group of users. The phone’s superior features such as mega-pixel imaging, high density 262K TFT screen and 3D gaming engine shows that Sony Ericsson is committed to driving the market forward by utilizing the unique strength of its Japanese business divisions” explains Hiroshi Yoshioka, Head of GMS/UMTS. “We believe customers will be inspired by the superior functionality of the S700 and embrace a new style of mobile imaging”.
The S700 will be available in Q4 2004 .

When you "open" it -required to type sms, dial a phone number etc- its length is something like 15+cm!!!
Doubled with nothing new but a 1.3Mpixel camera and 262k colour screen (and I thought was ahead of everyone ), I think it is rather a disappointment esp given it will be out in Q4...
Well, Z500 is the only good surprise from
