Ok, i might be being stupid here, but i was under the impression that the online updates only upgraded software? not firmware? any constructive comments? not sarcastic ones thanks . |

So what would upgrading the software entail then?
The phone runs on the firmware, therefore in order to provide upgrades, that's what is upgraded. Sony ericcsson do not upgrade the software on your phone, as the software is either on the firmware, or it is a 3rd party app. If you don't want sarcastic comments then dont post things that have been asked a million times before, are easily found out by doing a search, or are in the FAQ. |

I thought you had some problems with the update?
So, If you did not, the big question is: What is the differance?

Lucas,
When I entered my CDA-number 162003/1 about an hour ago, I got the following message:
"Your device is not supported"
Now I know why, Sony Ericsson were at that moment releasing the new firmware, organiser version R3A06.
My earlier was R2B02.
Now it works!
Downloading right now! |

My battery was not fully charged. Only 20% left, so I did not fullfill the download. Right now I am charging my phone.
The release notes says nothing about changes. |

Man...!
Well... Could you please check which files are located in the C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\software-data folder of your harddrive? Could be very interesting... |

@Maraton -
You've upgraded online before man.. You should know the requirements by now. I don't understand by the comment of "20% left"... What was that refferring to? If you're refferring to the battery gauge then why would you commence an upgrade without 100%?
