Rang them up twice today on 0870 241 0202
First time the guy says 3 months i start my spiel (t&c gives no fixed time period nothing in the contract that has been signed etc etc) and the (put your favourite swear word here) cut me off
Second time the woman says 3 months i start complaining about being cut off and then back to the spiel and she just appologises and says sorry 3 months
So i cant be assed anymore
I sold my P800 for £200 so i am only paying £75 for it in total over the whole year
I will now wait for the 3 months and downgrade i still have had a cracking deal so i am more than happy to wait
I suppose i could push it but as the contract says i am on the 400 tariff i dont want to get too stroppy just in case they turn round and say that i have to stay on the £45 tariff for the whole year because that is what i have signed up for |

why do you not just sign up at www.accountmanagement.o2.co.uk and then after a couple of days your sign up will be complete and on there you can change your tariff to the cheapest or what ever else you want with ONE click. no need to speak to operators who change their minds all the time.
Try it. Its easy

for our lord jesus christs sake. these are the rules and nobody can complain
you will go on 45 pound tariff for 3 months. in the contract it states subject to terms and conditions. the terms are made by o2 and these are 3 months on it then can change tariff. do you guys realise how much these phones cost-well i know you do..so if you want to keep me and 12000 people in jobs then pay the f****** 45 pound for 3 months then change it. work it out 500 pound sim freeish you only give back 45 x3= 135
15x 9= 135
total 270 so immediatley companies loose 200 pound. common sense says companies cant survive on this and will eventually put prices up. look at o2 in ireland and youll see what i mean.
so calm down. be happy you got the fantastic p900 for 270 and shut up
fair enough? |

Dude these companies are in the business of making money. They dont lose if they sell a p900 for £200, chances are the trade price of the handset to them equals about £100. None of these companies are stupid enough to lose money. Theyre up to something. Incidentally, the 3 months is ADVISED to the customer, so they can be sure that tariff is right or wrong for them. 1 month is all they can ask of you legally, then you can downgrade. This is fact. If they tell you otherwise, argue.

mmmm- yes you can change tariff within a month----upwards. yes i agree companies are init to make money. however i will tell you how much the companies pay for the p900- around 380 pounds. so why would they let you take a 380 pound phone for in theory if you swop tariffs straight away 180 pound. some one with a business degree will tell that that aint good business. they let us sell the phone at 45 ound for 3 months and then swop because they hope that people will use it more and not just put in a pay and go sim and give naff all back.
in auckland what do people pay for the p900 and what tariff etc -just being nosey! cos i reckon that that the uk networks are too generous with handsets.
feel free to argue

Well im in the uk but in akl 3 weeks ago the p800 was still sellin sim free for $2000nzd which is about £600. The uk is cheap for phones no doubt. This could go on forever, some people have succeeded in downgrading immediately, some have been told 3 months. So obviously o2 dont even really know themselves, and its hit and miss for the customer.
