All I'm getting now is a "fatal error" from the update service application... what's up with that...? |

I assume that doing this update will wipe my phone of all apps installed since I got the phone and all the contacts (not on the sim) and SMS/MMS messages etc will be deleted. Is this the case?
And if it is, can I do a backup, then update and restore to get the phone the way it was before (or will the new firmware cause problems with the restore)?
Its just that it runs fine at the moment, and I dont want to risk messing it up for a few little extra features.

Ok... rebooted my machine... Now the "fatal error" is gone... but... now I still get the message that either my phone is not switched off or not fully charged... but it is both...
What am I doing wrong here? Anyone? |

@Serge
I'm getting that too - the installation states that if you are upgrading using Windows XP then SP1 must be installed.
I don't have that installed - I'm downloading it now.

You are probably not doing anything wrong... I recieved the Unknow error some 5-10, but now it has compleeted. Right now It's in the process of restoring my backup, and so far it sems like it works fine!
Now We just have to wait and see if the ignoring problems has been fixed?!? |

Apparently I already have the latest FW, so is it worth me using this service to get the benefits someone mentioned above (e.g. increased clock size)?

@Lindhardsen: do you mean the "phone not switched off/battery not charged" error? 'cause that's as far as I can go right now... I have tried it for like 20 times or so... |

Hi there,
It states that " If you have the latest version (R1A05) there is no need to perform an update, unless you are experiencing a problem with your phone." My P900 has the latest FW. Do I still need to update or not? any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
thanks, keith
