Hereis a link from reuters about it.
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=3687779
Basically, it says that two us ressellers (Game Stop & Electronic Boutique) are selling the N-Gage 100 USD under suggested retail price (ie 199 instead of 299 USD) due to near-zero demand...
So I think that, indeed, retaillers anticipated a huge demand for the N-Gage, and that, so far, demand did not meet their expectations...
But still, it could be a hit one day? who knows!.. |

X-box still sucks whoever made that comment PS2 owns.
and honestly the n-gage it just way to pricey. the 3650 is much better IMO.
and once peopel start cracking the games..it'll be GAME OVER for the N-gage..
I just felt like saying that..ahahhahahh |

A couplr of my mates have them and they seem to really like them, But I have to say I hate them, It's the way you have to put the phone on it's side to answer the phone.

There's nothing wrong with holding it sideways really. It's not uncomfortable, you hear perfectly, and people who drive behind you can see the light of the screen so it's good when it's dark

Yeah this guy is nonstop defending n-gage. Not that there is something wrong with that... Just an observation...
What someone said the ngage is more than just a game console I think that is hard to believe. Nokia has wonderfull people working their website making their specs sound impressive no doubt. But trying to pass it as an MP3 player. Comon, how much can that hold ? 10 songs at best ? For those of you that have an iPod and are used to the convienience then you know what I am talking about. Throw those stupid flash based players away. Even my Tungsten can play MP3's so it's not a big deal and most other handhelds so big woop...
For people talking about the PS2. We'll people in japan spent a few nights waiting to get it. There was even a demand for it in Switzerland at the time (European version wasn't announced) and they imported the U.S. version albeit for 1000 SFR which is about 750 U.S... And I know people who still bought it. So to recapitulate THERE WAS/IS DEMAND FOR THE PS2. Everyone I know who plays games has a PS2, and those that have gamecubes or xbox's have them as second consoles...
Onto the gameboy advance, the N-gage has impressive graphic capability from what I have seen on the net. And to those of you saying it is such a lovely symbian device - I personally think that a symbian device is useless if it doesn't have a touchscreen (not defending the p800, but that is what I think)...
Finally, the ngage is a taco... WHY couldn't nokia but the microphone on the bottom of the device ? This is just plain stupid...
AND BTW, doens't the ngage have 1 MMC slot ? Then each time you want to listen to your tunes and then play a game after you have to dismantle the friggen thing !
- Edit -
And I forgot, on expansys right now on the front page the ngage rangs behind the t68i... OMG ! If that is not a clear indication of how well the ngage is selling that I do not know what to say ! The t68i has stopped production... LOL

mp3's-----well if you can use a 128-256 card that's still quite a bit of music...i use my p800 for music all the time it's great.. and if they have an ogg player app as well.. then you could easliy fit 50 songs in the player..so yes it is an mp3 player as well... it think th n-gage is a stupid taco phone but it still does what they claim.
sorry i don't need 10 gig's of music with me for the gym, the walk to school or the cummute home

Nokia did announce sales figures of N-gage shifting 400,000 units in its first two weeks after release, worldwide. Compared to GBA's first week sales of 500,000, I wouldn't really call the N-gage a flop.

Well as this has already been mentioned this is only a show for how many units have left the factory, not the actual demand. This only shows you that Nokia can produce and send these n-gage's boxed to retailers... This is not a reflection of how many where actually sold.
Now if they still shipped 500,000 every week 6 months from now, then I would be interested... |

If only P800 had this very basic text input called T9, available in low-end phones even, it would probably help you put more substance into your post... |

It was an acronym for N-GAGE...

@ Super G you must surely be one of the lucky nokia owners to come up with such a response, fortunately P800 users are able to write on the screens of their phones if they so choose, no need for t9 as most are educated enough to know how to write without the t9 help... can you nokia owners say the same? tap tap away my friends tap tap away.
