i don't have my t610 yet but should be getting it in the next couple of days so could somebody pls confirm this:
i read in one review that the call list on t610 shows a list of last 30 dialed, received and missed calls and one could view seperate lists if wanted. i've read ppl complaining abt the call list and rightfully so if one couldn't view seperate lists. so my question is can u or can u not??
edit:
and if one can't then this is one thing which should also be done along with a dozen other things in later a firmware update!

| oh yeah, i forgot japan has a totally different phone system.
but anyways i've tried 3 service centers here in sydney and none of them will flash it to unbranded firmware for me. they say vodafone won't let them
is there any other way that allows me to get unbranded firmware (preferrably without voiding warranty)? tia. |

Ritz:
you can view thirty missed,received and dialed numbers
You can also view seperately the missed list and the received/dialled list. |

it's not that the service point aren't allowed by Vodafone to do it, the upgrading system is blocking so a branded version can't be upgraded with a non-branded version.

not without voiding the warranty... read earlier threads about this |

i see, thx for the info. but it is safe to upgrade to non-branded version, isn't it? i searched and read thru a few threads and it seems that there are 2 ways: sonyericssonserver.com and some ppl like mobilexchange (can't find someone like them in australia ). both these methods will void the warranty, right?

So, to clear things up:
You cant upgrade it if it is a Voda phone (no pun intended)
If you make it so its not a Voda customised one (flashing the imie rom or whatever is done) then you invalidate the warranty and you can't get it upgraded.
So, it's a lose-lose situation?
Can they tell if it's been de-branded?
this sucks, i finally get my hands on a Week 25 phone and i find out this shit, jesus

jamesward, just for my interest,
did you get your vodafone branded phone knowing it had branding?
did you get it at a discount because vodafone subsidised it?
I'm just trying to understand all the gripes people have with the fact that they have difficulty removing the branding and custom software when the answer to these questions is yes.
don't want flames, just want to understand.

I just got mine done at MPRC (www.mprc.co.uk) - luckily I live about 10 mins away from them so I just used their drop-in service.
They are very good, and I recommend them to anyone. They even preserved all my phone book and settings, so no need to restore the backup I spent all day yesterday making! |

surely the customisation is on one chip, and the software's on another? so can't you upgrade the software, and leave the cumstomisation (ie. keep warranty)?
I'm probably wrong...!
I gave up with my vodafone t610- went back after 12 days, cancelled the contract- and now have an orange one- still not perfect, but a LOT better (only very limited changes to the software)! |

@t4e
has made a special Vodafone branded firmware to use on the branded phones... this firmware is locked so it can only be used with certain TAC numbers (first six digits in the IMEI). When upgrading, the system recognize it as a Vodafone branded phone and only shows Vodafone firmware for upgrade.
@jamesward
if you some how manage to get your phone un-branded with an ordinary firmware, the technicians can see it, if they turn on the phone... if they just upgrade it without looking, you'll get back the Vodafone firmware...

@Cytech - I presume you mean that if they just look at the branding on the phone casing, without switching on the phone and flash it with network specific branded software? |
