That energy doesn't actually come from "nowhere". It comes from "elsewhere" (I am referring to the Casimir effect). According to the law of conservation of energy - it can not come from 'nowhere', nor can it disappear into 'nothing.' .. But that's beside the point. The point is that the explanation given officialy with the product has nothing to do with conservation of energy, heat sinking or heat isolation. According to the offical explanation, the new "material" generates "cavity energy" which causes ions to flow "straight". That sentense alone is enough to make me sceptical about the whole product, especially since ions in the battery don't flow along some sort of lines, but flow through a more or less heterogeneous solution; and cavities don't generate energy.

I'm sceptical too, but no one who has bought it has said that it didn't work on their p800. It is only $9 (about £6?) so its not a fortune, then again maybe we would get the same effect by wrapping tin foil round our batteries (oh that sounds quite saucey).

It's unlikely that anyone who bought it and found it didn't work would post here because of all the kids that would pounce on them and call them idiots.
Why don't all you sceptics buy one and try it out? We are talking about US$10 post included to literally anywhere in the world! If you can afford the P800 then this isn't going to break the bank.
If it doesn't work for you then stop shopping from where you bought it. I have never had any bother from P800er.com. I buy, they ship, I receive. If these didn't work I wouldn't buy from them again. It's that simple.
By the way, it's not onlpy P800er.com that sells them. Do a search on Google and you will find others (just in case you think I work for P800er.com!). I don't care where you buy it from so long as you test it yourself and see your own results. |

I remember exactly the same saga with the signal booster (the one you attached under your battery), which was supposed to greatly improve the signal strenght. Everybody who bought one claimed that it worked, and did wonders for them. They could go places they couldn't go before, and still have signal, etc.... This lasted until it was prooved that signal booster didn't not improve signal strengh, but actually decreased it or had negative effects on the phone. Then, and only then did the complaints come. The same thing was with that little sticker which was supposed to protect mobile users from harmfull radiation. Human mind tends to see things the way it desires. You see what you want to see, especially if you invest some money in it.

@Provi Guy
It doesn't matter how it works! It gives me a chance to drone on about high end physics and bore people with my smart arse comments:P (Observe that great British trait of self-depreciating wit).
Whilst I've been writing this, I've decided what the hey! I've just ordered one.
Senses more opportunities for endless prattle ahead ... moo ha ha ha!

There....now the phone has turned itself off due to low battery. That's from Sunday afternoon until Thursday mid morning. Pretty heavy usage for me too. Approx 110 hours pemanently on with lots of regular emails, calls, surfing and chess. I am bloody impressed. |

There is an opportunity for someone to write another handy app, which tells you battery usage time between charges, typical consumption etc! My old Psion 2mx did that, and it was a handy wee bleeder of an app! |

Now that is a good idea for an app, you should mention that in the other thread, someone is asking what apps to develop.
BTW that does sound pretty impressive, better part of a week, with regular usage? I'll see for myself as soon as mine arrives.

I've got one but am unsure where to put it. Only useful answers please !!! The instructions say to put it under the battery not touching any terminals or circuits and near to where the aerial is ? Where is the aerial ? I will post if it works for me when I've tried it out. My physics is basic but I dod know if something works or not. |

This old chestnut again eh? Well, I bought one some weeks ago as you can see from my earlier post. I installed the thing and I have to say that the phone does genuinely appear to last a little longer between recharges. I've been trying to accurately measure this, but I've been having difficulty doing this due to work. I was sceptical at first, but it really does seem to be having some effect. I should note, however, that I havn't seen it having the dramatic effects that other users have, it does apepar to have extended my battery life a little, not a tiny amount, but not a large amount either.

The general concensus of opinion is that this product is a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. Finito!

@ _spc_
I would have agreed with you in that sentiment until I tried it, although it doesn't have anywhere near the effects that the manufacturers claim that is does, it does appear to increase the battery life of my P800 by a little. If you click on that link that was posted on this thread earlier today and read the review, then I would agree with the reviewers statement that it increased the P800 battery life by around 12%, its certainly isn't the 30% claimed for the 'battery extender' but still it is apparent.
One thing to consider is that everyone who has bought and tried it has said that it works to one degree or another and so far no one who has tried it has had a terrible report of it.

I was on your side of the "consensus" until I actually got the thing...
I believe it does increase battery performance, particularly in hot and heavy useage conditions. |

There's a review of the battery extender on mobileburn. See: http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=445
The carried out some semi-scientific test and found it actually worked, although it didn't give as great an improvement as the manufacturers claim. |
