firmware release - official |

So my flasher works and I have successfuly flashed my P800 with the latest firmware.
I have to disappoint all of you, there is no UIQ 2.1,
but we've got the SMS delivery reports (with time stamps), and also the night mode and mute shutter options for CommuniCam. Moreover, it is possible to select more than one media file in Pictures/Video/Audio. Fullscreen picture viewing and fullscreen video playback have been added too. The screensaver is different, the Sony Ericsson logo has been replaced by animated 3D cubes. The last concern worth mentioning is that I was unable to restore the phone backup, so I am reinstalling everything from the scratch.

@Firebird2k:
Currently you cannot flash the P800 unless you have the original EMMA II flasher software with smartcard, hardlock and corresponding flash interface.
I have written my own flasher software for all common GSM Ericsson/SonyEricsson phones and designed my own cable (the T28 service cable simply won't do).
Our local SonyEricsson servicepoint is lazy to download new firmwares for P800 because of their size (about 36MB), anyway this firmware is not available to them... Btw, they flash the phone in 65 minutes and I do the same job in 18 minutes, at 8x higher communication speed (921600Bd).

Hi friends,
My P800 died on me this morning ..was going to check the calendar when an error mess appeared which I just closed and after that the phone was not responding to input anymore. Tried to restart but it only comes as far as the SE logo. I have an SP in my office and left the phone for flashing at 09.00 cet and whent back after one hour to hear about the progress, but they had not been able to start the flashing since SE was uploading a new upgrade so maybe this is it. I will keep you posted.
Cheers! |

Thanks for the info Lead...as asked earlier.. do you plan on making the software and cable available to us lowly end users ...I'm in the US and unfortunately, SE only has one service center out in the middle of nowhere.. Thanks again! |

I have just contacted SE in the UK and the kind lady there tells me (after consulting "someone who knows") that the latest official firmware is R1G05 (I have R1D). She (and he I presume) know nothing about R2D. Should I go ahead and try to upgrade at my local service centre or am I wasting my time? |

wasting your time.
R1G05 is the latest - but she is referring to the Organiser version.
R2D (phone) will be here shortly... be patient.

Thanks Andy
Wish I could download some patience!
I'd like the upgrade because it will give acknowledgements of received SMS messages. I got used ot it on my T68i and it is annoying that it was not included as standard on the P800. |

R2A012 is now out. You should be able to get your phone updated to it through any service point. |

As of now I dont know what the phone firmware is. The firmware package name is R2A.
Firmware R2A Contains:
Phone: R2D
Bluetooth R5A
Organizer R2A16
CDA R3A12
The previous firmware release package was R1G. The R1G package had the R1D for the Phone. R1F also had R1D for the phone.
