@sidewinder 25 and110 are the known ports used for mails. IP blocking is what theyve implemented i think.

Pop3 for globe still works for me using hotpop, just use the internet APN. sigh...just when things were getting interesting, they decide to fXck it up.

@sidewinder- yes, I still can. Checked before I posted so I won't be misleading you. Just check all your settings again, maybe it was edited by mistake.

if prepaid, not all SIMs can make use of internet.globe APN. some cant.. it will say "gprs parameters not supported"
if postpaid, using internet.globe APN will charge P0.50/kB.
just a note. |

No way around it. www APN can only be used for wap browsing using phone and pda. Let's just say that it was good while it lasted but unlike before when there were loopholes and other gateways, sadly email and web browsing for phone, pc and pda can only be accomplished using the internet APN which as said is charged .50 c per total kilobytes used, meaning sent and received.:-(

go dig up really, really old prepaid SIMs. coz when Globe gets into some really nasty problems, those SIMs always do get through. just my experience though. |

Well it was good using our t68i's email client thru globe's www APN while it lastd until recently. If we use internet APN,then we will be charged. For a prepaid user, sometimes it makes our t68i useless(w/o email client). You have a high tech phone pero ndi mo naman magamit all its features cos blocked or may bayad w/c ndi naman kaya ng bulsa natin all the time. What more ung mga nagbayad ng 3-5k sa bills w/o knowing ung difference btwn the 2 APNs.

@*Didn't you notice that globe GPRS was relatively problem free today. Hope it continues to improve.

happy days are indeed over . . . as far as Globe's GPRS is concerned . . . you now have to subscribe to their G-Surf plan . . . on the other hand, Sun has begun to shine . . . |
