the R250 and R310 should do fine. when they get the special update of the R250 you can see a map on it, use it as a 2way radio and see where you team is. a phone whit GPS would be fine 2. the Z1000 of sendo but that phone is history.

it would be kind of funny if the iraqui soldiers weren't ill equiped, i guess... if they were in equal conditions in the desert, i would ask the thread maker which phone does he think would be better for the iraqui soldiers to shove up US marines's asses...
since it's a coward war, no such question is in order, and maybe the marines could really use celular phones in their desert vacation...

Agreed! Only an American could have started this thread! Though we aren't much better here in the UK...

I agree this thread is wrong. War isn't something to be taken lightly, ever.

Lets take this thread seriously for a minute. Any solider can take a mobile phone with him as personal belongings, however, they won't be allow to carry it into battle.

Cellular phones would have to be switched; due to interference they cause, accidental sound and light sources could give positions away etc.

Moreover, if an invasion is imminent then your cellular phone will be useless. communications within Iraq will be the first targets. phone and cellular transmiters will be destroyed. Only military satellite phones will work as they have the priority and clearance.

Anyway your phone manufactorer will not warranty your phone if you get any sand in it.

I just feel that in the curret situation where many innocent Iraqi people (and British, American and other countrys soldiers) are likely to die soon in a war, it is not really appropiate to be asking what Sony Ericsson phone the soldiers might be carrying.

I know your intentions are good and you are not looking to offend people with your post but at the moment it might not be appropiate.

From a technology point of view (which I'm sure is where your coming from) the post is interesting. You certainly picked a contrivershal (spelling) subject to post!

Ericsson R250 pro could be used. I don't imagine any other SE GSM handset that could meet military needs.

They have had their mobiles taken off them now along with things like CD walkmans and personal stuff,if any of you watched the news or documentrys on war in Iraq you would'nt be putting questions like this on a mobile phone forum. :-)

I guess then it has to be the job of the journalist to send some mms while the soldier are fighting on the battlegrounds.

I believe Pres. Bush is doing the right thing... Saddam has not comply with the UN to disarm eversince the end of GULF war. That was more than 10 years ago... Are we so damn to play with this Fool (Saddam) for 10 years? This man is a big liar... Yes, I hate war! but more than 10 years and still doesnt disarm? This is a joke? A lot of people are against this war ,but they know nothing- if you ask an Iraqi immigrant ere in US they are very glad that their country will be liberated. They know the situation in Iraq (91-03) MORE than us who just played politics.

I beleive Saddam will like the S.E T610- (with hidden c4 in it!)
