probably the same people that says 1080p and 720p on 5" are virtually the same. |

on a screen that small it is definitely not gonna be easy to tell the difference. most people probably wouldn't be able to tell and only people with a keen eye would. it's the same for a lot of things like photos and audio quality.
that being said, this guy wrote a bashing article before really getting a true hands on of the Z5p and the Z5. other tech blogs like engadget actually got z5p devices in hand to preview them and rave about the 4k. and this guy is calling it hype based on his few minutes at a booth and some phones stuck to a wall display? seasoned reporter? more like desperate for attention..

I also suspect the 4k resolution will be hard to notice by most people (still can't wIt to try the phone myself though.
Like others said this looks like a true flagship so well done Sony. Looking forward to reading real life experience about battery and camera. Still well done to Sony for inserting a larger battery and producing this nice phone. It us a shame though it won't be available until November . iPhones , nexus , da sung already will be available before then so I feel like Sony is missing on potential clients here. |

It will definitely be hard to notice on regular usage, doesnt the phone render everything in 1080p and upscale? It only display video and images at native 4K. |

There becomes a point where its really hard to tell.. I am very happy with anything over 300ppi, here we are talking 800+ ppi.. its a great engineering achievement, but I am not sure how relevant it is for the end user.
That's a crazy amount of pixels to push.. good job Qualcomm |

complaining about lack of OIS without examining videos and comparing simply means you just want to see buzzwords.
Not true. I for one would like to see OIS implemented. Not that I will be shaking a lot when taking photos, but is you can stabilized your photo at night, you can lower the shutter speed, which means lower ISO, which means lower noise level.

Perhaps the method employed by Sony can stabilize the photo the same way done by OIS. So, if this can be done without OIS, why not? That's why the suggestion to look at the images and videos before making judgment.

This looks fantastic! Wish Sony could have stuffed in wireless charging and OIS too
Anyway, if this sells well, they should release the ULTRA version along with the Tab.

I just learned that the Z5P has stainless steel frame instead of the standard Aluminum material like the Z5 and Z5C
GSM Arena
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a stainless steel frame (unlike the other Z5s, which are made from aluminum)
Locating the Fingerprint sensor at the size is very convenient.
The new sensor is impressive, Sony finally stepped up their game this time (using Alpha tech for their Mobile division). I hope they will continue this integration with the other departments in the future.
The more I read about this device, the more I want to get it .... why do I have to wait until November??
I love both the Gold and Chrome version..... tried throwing money at the screen.... nothing happened

Just did a comparison on GSMArena between the crop on Z5 and Z3+
Z5 is excellent, with noise level at around the same level of G4 and S6, and this is only the preproduction unit!
