I found the Galaxy S5 battery average at best not much different from other new flagships. But I am a heavy user

I've found the S5 battery very good, the other day I unplugged it at 7.30am and used the Internet and listened to a lot of music, battery was still at 45% at 6.30pm. |

Do you really consider displaymate reviews so trustworthy? During last 12 months they have only reviewed Samsung mobile displays, don't you find it strange?
Samsung supplies them with devices they can test, so I'm sorry to say that, but it's rather unlikely that they are totally unbiased in their opinions.
But it works for Samsung to have a good PR. |

I believe that the article is backed by actual tests- it is not just an opinion, so I am not too sure how they can be biased ? But if some other party/site will perform similar test and find different results then we could conclude I suppose that displaymate is biased.

I wont be upgrading to this version but I do look forward to seeing what the screen resolution looks like. By the time I am ready to get the Note 5 the screen resolution race would have ended at QHD. Whats left for Samsung is screen brightness and more natural colours. They are improving on these two aspects quite well with each new iteration of their various flagships.

It is not for me to say who is biased or not, I leave that to you. But as far as I can see Displaymate do in-depths review of tv screens, laptops, smartphones etc through extensive tets and measurement.

First of all, I didn't say that they are biased, I just said that the fact that Samsung is the only mobile brand they review recently makes one raise an eyebrow. Those are two totally different things!
Secondly, I'm not saying that Note 4 has shitty screen or even a bad one, but I remember that they said similar things about S5 screen where many sites didn't agree with what they said. So what makes this one any different?
I'd rather wait for a second or even a third opinion before concluding anything final. |

^at least phonearena agrees with them on color accuracy this time around. |

@ Wishmaster Phonearena also does screen tests. Maybe we should and see what they say also. I also want to a caomparison table with the screen on the Note 4 and that of the iPhone 6 plus.

Just did a scan of this page, but I'm going to guess that people don't want to believe Displaymate's results as they go against their favorite manufacturer and are positive about Samsung, same ol' same ol', not even going to bother arguing as we all know Samsung make gorgeous displays and I cannot wait to have that Super AMOLED 2K display in my hand.
Displaymate gave the S5 a great rating and in real life the S5 display proved to be truly stunning, I'm not a fan of the S5 but put both it and the already incredible S4 display next each other and there is a clear difference despite lower PPI.

I would love to see a Super AMOLED display in Quad HD it would certainly look better than LG G3 poor attempt. I was really disappointed with the G3 screen.

Perhaps Samsung asks Displaymate to publish their findings about their screens

@Bonovox
that is something I didn't consider, interesting POV. That would explain why there were no tests published of phones from other brands.
@all the rest
I didn't say that the screen is rubish, probably it is very nice and for FWIW I'm ready to admit that Note 4 really has the best screen on the market, heck if all the portals agree that Note 4 is the best screen when it comes to color accuracy, viewing angles and power efficiency I'll publicly admit it here!
I'm just not buying this whole Displaymate judgement, and I'm trying to be reasonable and don't take anything for granted.
