For me it will def be the Note3 The Ultra is too large imo and I don't think it is very pocketable. I don't like the square shape, it's sharp edges and the lack of a camera flash
If one is looking for a phablet, Note 3 seems the very best way to go, the competitors seem to still be trying to find their feet in the Phablet market, none has as solid product as Samsung.

To be fair, I really dont think the Z Ultra wasnt made to go directly against the Note series. I mean, clearly the much larger size doesn't compare. And the little effort with the overall experience when using the stylus.

The one with stitches on the back? Anyway, I wonder how long it takes before the screen goes blue. |

Roll on it, my S3 hasn't had an update in months !
Not as bad as it has been for the Note II.
Bought mine in December and haven't had a single update since I unpacked it and boot it up for the first time.
The phone itself has been rock solid, so I don't want to complain really.

This phone is indeed impressive! This is the best device after the S4. If Samsung makes an IP68 Note I may forget that they struggle with signal.
I still have a soft spot for Sony because of their association with Ericsson but honestly they aren't yet in the same league with Samsung in phone development.
Sony will come up with something decent but then Samsung comes back and slaps them around.
The only thing missing on Samsung phones is water resistance.
I am not one who buys phones because of great camera so that won't sway me one bit.

I wonder how other manufacturers Phablets are doing...
Samsung sold over 38 million Galaxy Note devices
Samsung’s CEO JK Shin confirmed the sales of its Galaxy Note range that was introduced couple of years back. At a press meet during IFA, JK Shin said that the Galaxy Note range – which includes the original Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note II – sold over 38 million units. That’s impressive number for a form factor that was ridiculed by many for its size initially.
Shin also confirmed that regarding the Galaxy Note 3 sales, he expects “10 million units will be sold”, which we assume is the launch numbers considering the mass availability of the device from September 25.
JK Shin also supported the high price of Galaxy Gear, saying “it provides a lot of functions.”
Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear will go on sale in 149 countries from September 25 whereas America and Japan will get it in October.

Wow That is a freaking high number, and many laughed at these phones and said they were too big and that there were no marked for them

Indeed! Those are better numbers than most manufacturers mainstream flagships!
Whoever at Samsung (be it an individual or team) came up with the Note brand, they seriously deserve a lot of credit, achieving what Dell couldn't with the Streak 5.

One of the things that makes the Note series a good thing is the stylus or S-Pen which is markedly different from the usual stylus. It helps that you could do so much more with it.
Another important thing is that the Note basically replaces a small tablet while having all the features of a great phone. It is the best blend of both worlds. SO many persons want to have constant access to their tablet and their phone and the Note series achieves this.

Makes me feel sorry for all the also-rans failing to challenge the Note:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 brings its new S Pen and gorgeous 5.7″ Super AMOLED to our office
"The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is finally here and boy are we excited. It’s the best thing to happen digital notepads in recent times and something of an Android icon in the making.
..." The loss of weight will be immediately felt by Note II users and so will the increase of the screen resolution. The display on the Note 3 is among the best we’ve used, if not the best."

Great incremental improvement to the GN2. The screen seems fabulous. I can see at least another 15-20 million being sold

You know, I used to say 4.2 was the perfect size for me and then I got the S4. I started looking at the Note II and thought, this is a nice size to have. It seems the more phones get bigger the more our minds perceive them as acceptable relative to what we own, one ends up feeling ''inadequate'' when the next person is holding a bigger screen phone.
I will, however, say that the Mega 6.3 is gigantic! I saw it this last weekend and I just gasped, that thing was unbelievably huge. I don't think I can go that far for a phone, might as well go for a proper tablet.
