Go to your phone's Settings -Connectivity -Internet Settings -Connect Using: -Options -Edit -scroll down to Proxy Settings and set Proxy to Off. Save the settings and then boot up UCWeb and try it.
By the way on my K850 when i set Proxy to Off i didnt get the option to Save, so i had to set a different access point then switch proxy off in the access point im going to use then after that set it again as the access point and save.

Yes hihi, its display is worst ever i came across. You know, it tends to cut the sentences and the fonts are not even for all. Few lines are in big fonts and few lines are in small fonts. If you reload the page, the big fonts might get small improving the layout bit but still not worth to use daily. But it has the best download manager. That's the only reason why i use it otherwise i would have dumped it way before.

About its slowness, on my K850i, it is fast enough.
