I'm sure Roksan also has a separate EQ, 14 band I guess. an EQ is ment to adjust short-comings in amplifiers and situations. Most (all) people have their speaker's misplaced, not to mention the place where to listen. In mp3 players you need an EQ to cover up the compression, DA converter, cable and actual earpiece. But was this thread not about someone deserting ?

Yes true. My dad has his speakers placed on speaker stands which makes bass more solid without sounding boomy. He has filled the stands with sand inside. Actually he also had a Roksan cd player which recently died after 6 years and it was expensive. My dad has a Project record player which cost 1,300 he plays all his classical on it. Sorry going off topic too much

Does the W995 have a dedicated DSP, like the W990? If so then I see you're point. Curious, how many of you manage huge playlists and tracks with an 8/16/32GB memory card solely and directly on your phones?!

To add not ALL specifically applied EQ settings work for ALL tracks in your library; what works for Jazz will definately not work for Progressive/Minimal/Garage House.

btw, for the record I cannot Stand current Minimal; not in its current evolution.

Last SE Walkman i used was my W900,shes long gone now after getting WSOD. I have a smartphone, 5800xm, so ye it has a DSP and with my manual EQ setting my hiphop and RnB sounds excellent! Managing playlists is simple on a Nokia S60 smartphone, especialy thanx to this other app called Playlist DJ and then also the other 3 folders (Recently Added, Recently Played and Most Played) and having a built-in Id3Tag editor is a major plus. Doing the same on a SE Walkman i found difficult, as its missing some of the above.

I got about 10 or so 8GB cards. With entire discographies of course. I mean Metallica only grabs about 1.5GB, Iron maiden another 1-2, Black Sabbath another 1-2 and so on. I have like 4-5 bands on each card, so yeah I keep a lot of music managed on my SE's. Having no manual EQ is a pain for me, cause I listen to not only metal, but rock, and lots of 80s electropop and such.
