The best way for me to get rid of anger is to meditate in the morning. My whole day pass like a joy ride. Then also if, however, i get angry, i prefer to be silent and let go everything that bothers me.

Thanks well I have learned my lesson of ignoring my diet & health its a sad wake up reality but I am feeling better although a little over tired before my body adjusts to medication. Thats why i needed good hearty fresh brisk walk in the cold air this afternoon. I have been given 2 weeks to rest off work so got too much time to use on Esato I have some relaxation CD's which has someone talking relaxing your mind then it has sound effects of the sea & a river with birds singing then classical music playing. It works to relax me anyway Also when I see people risking their lives just to get somewhere faster like running accross the road or cutting people off in traffic & getting stressed running for the bus. Chill out & relax man those few extra minutes will save stress & even save your life

Hi Bonovox, you've certainly had a rough time I'm glad you're feeling better now. Wake up call certainly!
I have had kidney problems for the last 3 years or so but got a bit lazy with the fluid intake over the last month - result being reoccurrence and rushed into hospital on Tuesday evening, so what I have learned is that consistency is also as important - you can't even lapse for a few weeks without risk. Also if like me you go to your GP and he gives you the same tablets which didn't work last time even when you tell him - don't accept it, they are there to help us and not to give us the cheapest on their list.

Hope you'll continue to improve and keep it that way.

Well i went on the scales this morning to see i was one and a half stone overweight. I dont even look big, just a small pot belly. But they say fat appears internally around your organs and not just under the skin. So thats probably my problem i reckon.

Plus my diet. I was horrified last night when i looked at a bottle of lucozade i had just drunk. It contained 58g of sugar ! thats more sugar than the weight of a standard Mars bar !

I was told one of the worst things you can eat is refined sugar in things like biscuits and cakes. Also obviously saturated fat and hydronated fats or something. Best thing to do is eat healthy obviously but treat yourself every now and again. I wont be over doing it this Christmas and when i feel bit better i shall be back swimming again.

I could do with changing my diet to be honest I work as a scaffolder and eat lots of rubbish in Cafe`s. My Brother in law was 37, he was slightly over weight didn't drink and smoked maybe 3/4 cigarettes a day so nothing too excessive he took in lots of Fresh air as he was a keen fisherman. On the 26th of Nov he suddenly died and after a Post mortem it turns out he had a heart attack.

My mother died at 55 of cancer never drank never smoked always watched her weight. Two of her sisters in Ireland also died of cancer one was 37 one was 44 i miss them all so much still now. My uncle also died at 55 two years ago he was a vegan never touched anything animal and was slim active. Died of liver problems. He left his entire fortune to me my brothers and my cousins in Ireland as he was not married and had no kids. Still yet to recieve it but its around £10,000 each. You just never know do you even if your healthy. I just hope i helped anyone else here realise if they are unhealthy too. I also had a friend at work years ago who was in his late 30's he over did it at the gym like 5 nights per week and had a heart attack. So you can over do it both ways

But yet you get people living their lives how they want, eating as much as they want, drinking as much as they want, smoking as much as they want, then die of old age.

Much of it is down to pure luck i reckon. But might aswel improve your chances by becoming healthier. Ive already started today. I skipped lunch at work (usually something fried or with saturated fats) and instead chose to wait till i got home this afternoon then had a ham salad.

Thats good starting now is better than keep saying i am going to start in months from now. I have seen lots of people who are old and smoke like a chimney yet nothing is wrong with them. Good luck

Hey Bonovox, glad to hear you're okay. I've been away from Esato for a few days and I've missed so much!

I put on weight earlier this year due to stress in too many areas of my life and being depressed. I reached 89kgs which doesn't sound like much but its the most I've ever weighed and I became tired all the time. I used to weigh consistently 78kgs through my late 20's and mid 30's. After some significant changes in August I started eating better and exercising more and am now down to 82kgs while looking and feeling much better too. I have dropped 4 belt notches in 3 months and am going to have to buy some smaller clothes

You don't have to give up all bad foods just make them a small minority instead of the majority of what you eat. Even the exercise doesn't have to go too overboard to be effective if you work smart. But never skip meals! It wreaks your eating routine and causes you to put on weight.

Do yourself a favour and read Body For Life by Bill Phillips. It'll change your life like everyone else who's read it. My copy is borrowed from a friend.

Thanks mate. Well ya know i put on alot of weight after giving up smoking although before i already had a bit of weight but not as much as i have now. I seen one of your photos you were definately not fat I know its ok to treat yourself every now and then and its important not to miss breakfast. They say its the most important meal of the day. Strange you mention that book. My Hungarian friend she advised me sometime ago about healthy life style and gave me a book called Fit For Life though i forget the author. She won medals back in Hungary for sport. Silly i never read the book enough My parents always used to say and my old and wise family in Ireland take garlic and cod liver oil every day that will keep ya fit and healthy. I know one woman who smoked heavy all her life nothing wrong with her into her 80s she took cod liver oil every day made her live long. Though in them days they used to have to have a spoonful never had capsules so it tasted horrible. Anyway i am taking up my swimming again when feeling bit better. I used to do it and i have what they call a Passport To Leisure card here for council run gyms and pools. Need to do it. Not bothered about the gym swimming is fine enough.

Tell me about it. I took out a 12 month gym membership contract in October 08. I was so glad when the 12 months was up. The gym is so boring. There wasnt even any pretty women there to perve onto - only my ex's !!

So ive decided to either get back on my mountain bike or start walking / jogging. Ive already cut down on my bad foods - i had my first bar of chocolate just now late in the afternoon. Usually i have 2 for breakfast, one or two at lunch, one for a snack in the afternoon then pig out some more when i get home.
