Go for the T7500 CPU, that 4Mb cache does make a difference. A clean install of Vista home premium needs 1Gb to work at it's best, so 2 gig should be enough for all but the most power hungry apps. With Xara, paintshop pro and dreamweaver running at the same time, I still have on average 512Mb of free memory or more on a 2Gig system.

So the first one is looking like a good bet. Have you checked that your software will work ok with Vista?

most will (CAD etc) but apprentley its a bit of a pain to set up, BUT it can be done.....

honeslt, would you pay the £10 more and go for the 17inch screen + vista?

on the vostro ones? also have you ever seen a vostro? is the finish good?

cheers cyco

Never seen a Vostro in my life matey so I really can't comment. Back to googling for reviews eh?

1280x800 is enough for what I do but in your line of work I guess it would be well worth paying £10 extra for 17".

check the screen shots, the resolution on both the 15inch and 17inch have been bumped up to the max i can acchieve... i think the 15ich is: 1680 x 1050 and the 17inch is: 1920 x 1200......

so both 'should' be more than suficent....

just not sure if the weight/size will make 'that' much difference to me.....

Yeah, but won't everything look a bit tiny if you run a 15" screen at 1680 x 1050?

sounds like a nice deal for 15.4" core duo vaio with a reasonable size disk etc

I have recently bought two original vaio batteries off ebay for pretty good prices. A BPS2C for my SZ4 and a BPS5C for my TX5.

You can get non-originals for £30+ but for little more, if you prepared to wait and watch a bit, you can also get originals for not alot more.

If you buy from online shops you can expect anything from £70-£150 for an original standard battery
