Xbox is way behind in sales, and in the amount of games. This is what CNET wrote on 9th January 2003:
"Sony said Thursday that it sold 8.5 million PlayStation 2 game consoles during the key holiday shopping season in November and December, up 24 percent from a year ago and holding well ahead of rivals. The figures, largely in line with analysts' expectations, showed Sony far outselling consoles from Microsoft and Nintendo, which hit the shelves more than a year after PlayStation 2. "

Sony are still selling more PS2 consoles than any of the other, and it has a lead that M$ will not be able to compete with. More consoles sold means larger user base which leads to more games. |
