T68i is/becomes old fashion? |

I'm not a SE hater, first off, FAR from it.
I loved my T68i when I had it, but you guys, if you're thinking straight, have to admit that the 7650 beats the T68i in terms of features. The only two things that the T68i has over the 7650 are the audio profile on the Bluetooth and it's Tri-band.
The 7650 by comparison has email client for up to 6 mailboxes, POP3 and IMAP4 (and its far easier to set up and use as compared to the T68i's, which requires you to know the mailbox settings by their IP address - Ouch!), it also runs on the Symbian 6.0 operating system, which allows you to download and customise it to your tastes (Video playback and record anyone? Or perhaps an HTML web browser?). If it doesn't do something you want, just download a new program to MAKE it do it. As well as this, you have Polyphonic ringtones, built in speakerphone, JAVA, a 4096 colour screen, proper PIM functions (though I'll admit that there's no SyncML onboard - but you can download a Java applet to add this). To top it off, it has four times the memory capacity of the T68i, although its not enough once you start downloading apps to it!!
Look, I like the T68i, and you cant fault it if you're comparing its size to that of the 7650, because the Nokia is a brick. If you're going on features though, as I did when I upgraded my T68i to the 7650, you have to go with the 7650 at the moment.
Having said that, the P800 beats the 7650 in every possible way according to the specs I have read, and luckily because I work in the industry, I have been lucky enough to actually use one. I cant wait for that phone, and I will be ditching the 7650 straight away for one of those when it comes out.
The 7650 doesn't deserve to be flamed. I'm no lover of Nokia, in my opinion I dont happen to believe they are reliable, and most of their phones seem to be identical, just a change in casing, but the 7650 is a very good phone with excellent features. |

If this one is become old fashioned then they make this one as a low end unit about below $100. If that happens then the market will be flooded with T68 (if will produce). Then you will see a lot of old fashioned unit which are fashionable.
Even high end Nokia units 8210, 8250, 8850, 8890 (which are gray, to be correct black and white) will be no match with T68.

When I fist saw the 7210, I planned to sell my T68m-i to buy that unit...after completely comparing their features, man...the 7210 ate dirt. I don't hate Nokia, infact I love nokia because of its style and simplicity...not to mention its user friendliness. But for me, it wasn't enough...polyphonic tones? I know its way too cool but after you have dozens of tones...you'd get bored and just choose one right? 4096 reso color dispay...wow! 4096 compared to 256? Really KO'd the T68i but still the same, you'd get bored...sometimes i even disabled the bg display.
Maybe the 7210 is just way too fancy for me...the first time I saw it, WOW! But then after consecutively borrowing it from my friends' dad I noticed that it was just a fancy unit after all.
One thing I really love about my T68 is its style...it just blends with any occasion. Whether business or formal parties to night clubs and hang outs, its never out fashioned.
Well, I know a lot will disagree an agree with this: please dont compare the 7650 with the T68, you're just simply comparing a brick with a phone. I personally hate 7650 because of its size

The fact is that, aside from smartphones, there really aren't any other small phones out there right now that offer color + GPRS + Bluetooth. And for some of us, that's a really big combination. The Siemens S55 may offer some competition, but it's really just a software competitor - it even uses the same screen as the T68i. But if it allows you to pick a nice loud SMS tone and lets you repeat it, I may have to upgrade... |

Still is one of the best, I've just bought a new T68i a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe that a phone that's over a year old could look so good, be so small and have so many features. For the first time since I got my first phone in '97 there were no Nokias on my shortlist. Personally I don't think there's anything better around at the moment. |

Hey you think 4096 colours is great but now comes Panasonic 65536 colours so the next thing you know all phones support 65536 colours then you will be saying 7210 sucks the colours are better on the other phone. Anyway the 7210 poly tones cannot be assign to groups that's stupid but the T68i can even assign the ringing tones to each individual numbers that you have on your T68i. Yes I do admit Poly tones sounds great. But how about other features on 6100 or 6610 can it compare to T68i NOT. I like the idea of if you need the extra features just buy and attached it not like Nokia you have to buy a brand new phone like the 7250 just because it adds a camera to it and sell it again. |
