www.google.co.uk/gmm
gives an english version of google maps with touch screen support. I dont know about my location, i didn't try.
So if anyone needs the UIQ english version just log onto the above URL via the phones in-built browser and you will get the touchscreen version i did so last night and it worked fine.
My only problem is that the icon used to depict google maps is the default UIQ java icon (purple diamond shaped icon) anyone know how to change this if possible? |

Just installed Google Maps from "www.google.co.uk/gmm" on my P1i and it's much better than the "default" version. English language, interface is better and it supports touch-screen. Thank you for this link. |

Even after downloading google maps from www.google.co.uk/gmm and installing it, I still don't have a touchscreen support, which makes this program useless . Anyone have any idea what might be wrong ??

with what browser did you download it? Try using the default p1i browser and not opera mini |

Thanks a lot 5nak3, I was using opera mini to download the app. After downloading it with the default browser, it's fine
