Cool! So u bought the one they used in the tests?
How much?
I wouldnt really bother buying a "non official" phone, you dont get any warranty do you?? But if you got the cash then there shouldnt be any problem!
Nice pic also!! Hehe |

the ringtone comes standard! I think perhaps bengalboy can tell us how many there are, but there are alot!!
The way I see it bengalboy is the only one here that actually owns the phone!
I got to play with it for apx. 1 hour, seemed like 5 minutes, I was so excited! Looking sooo forward to owning my own unit!
Bengalboy, the way I see it, you got all a man needs, a neet toy for boring rides in the subway, and a very neet toy for bed |

Hmmm I'm starting to like this thing more and more now.... The browser seems very good! I just might get it if Samsung doesn't release their smartphone any time soon...
Too bad 'bout the screen only being 4096 colours though. For such a large screen it really should've been 65K or more, which would've made watching video clips and pics taken from the cam more enjoyable...

my opinion is that the screen is more than good enough to watch videoclips! things can always be "better" but there is nothing negative to say about the screen of the p800! |

Oh, never mind 'bout the Samsung thing.... Just found out that they won't release their first Symbian powered phone before the year 2004.
Guess the long awaited P800 will be my next phone too then!

Bengalboy!!!!!! Nice to see you in this forum too. Your Pre-production unit didn't come with software??? Oh BTW, this is whtrbt7 from HF. Encountered any bugs so far? I saw another Pre-production unit but wanted the commercial one so I still have to wait. Le sigh. |

Okay, yes, mine has the blue light on the left side of the phone as it faces you and the green light on the right. The lights are not visible form the outside of the phone but shine throught he plastic. Very cool and sleek, no headlights, all fender and grill. The ringtones are according to the phone, 21 tracks, one of which I downloaded from Sony's P800 site. Without my software, I am hamstrung at this point to download my on wave file or midi. The MP3' can probably be used as the phone can play and store them, and would free up alot of memory over the wav files. Everyone loves the poloyphonic ringer and say "I have never seen a phone sound like that?" I live in Alabama you see,,,LOL! |

Hi, Bengalboy
So Can you tell us how's the battery life?? Is it easy to use by one hand and what functions can be accessed from joy dial ?? How' s the quality of video playing and MP3 ?? Is the poly ringtone loud and nice?? Since some people complain about the poly on T300 is too low. How's the P800's RF and sound quality ?? Is the speakerphone loud enough to use in a relative noisy area?? And finally how's the menu UI and is it easy to use ??? Sorry that I got so many questions but I am really interested in P800 !!! Thanks !!! |

Hey Caff,
That you from Howard? I know it is from the post, same questions over there and alot of them. Okay, ringtones are VERY LOUD! INCREDIBLY LOUD! You will like them and everyone else will look at each other and ask why the man is talking into his radio. As for the speaker phone, my callers never know I am on speaker until I tell them, the mic is that good. The speaker volume however, is not that great for any enviroment with alot of ambiant noise, but you wouldn't really want to use the speaker function in a bar or restaurant anyway, so I would say it is great overall.
Biggest and most Pleaseant Phone Suprise? Fantastic RF performance. The phone performs as well or better than my V70 and Amy's V60i. Sony/Ericsson has finally taken care of it's phones biggest flaw in my opinion.
I have only Chess and Solataire for games. The graphics are great and I will take some pictures if anyone is interested.
I have not been able to download any MP3's yet because I don't have the software, but it came with some very nice Sony stereo headphones and I can hook a friend's noise cancelling Sony earbuds up to it with an adapter plug. I am pretty sure that it will be a very good MP3 stereo player.
Can't remember the rest of your questions.

Expect a day of battery for full internet, PDA, playing with it cause it's just sitting there, talking on it be cause it's a phone, and taking pictures, because you can. The point, Battery is very Good for what it does, all day use and at night put it in it's charger for the next day.
User interface was biggest suprise, T68i lags with photos, menus etc. This is like using a P4 overclocked to 3ghz with water cooling. Seriously, tap the menu, and it's there on your screen. Send a 640 X 480 photo over the internet in approximately 30 seconds compared to over 2 minutes on a T68i, all due to processor speed. It's a "Break Out Device"! That is the only way I can describe it for me. I have never been a PDA user, the ones I played with were nothing more than super dooper calander keepers to me and slow...This is a device no one has ever seen before and if my preproduction unit is this good...the final version will be absolutely killer. Nothing will beat it until we in the U.S. get 3g. So much stuff and things and software in development for it, you will get your money out of it before the technology changes.
My opinion of course... |

Glad to see this forum as being so much more pleasant than the Hofo one. Hey Mark, does the phone have T9 predictive text input with flip closed, and is it comfortable tapping keys on the flip? Read some negativity from Mobile Burn's review.
Also, is it possible to access the basic functions like scheduler, notes, tasks with the flip closed, using keys as text input?
Thanks. |
