If there is an issue with the handset then we will endeavour to fix it as best possible, however at the end of the day, NO we will not cover replacement of a damaged handset.

I would like to say that however this only applies to phones which are damaged by the work, of which we have had NONE!!, any handsets damaged in transit are covered fully by the insurance we have in place on deliveries.

In the vast numbers of handset we have done now, we have failed to complete only 1, and it was a pre existing issue, which was resolved by the customers Orange Care, he then sent his replacement to us and all was successfull.

This is a service we have been offering for a while now and are very well versed in the processing of all SE handsets.

if you insure it and then you breeak the waraty by screwing with the firmware you wont get a replacement.

ACTUALLY....

If the handset is damaged whilst the FW is being changed then it will not work, therefor you can claim on the insurance for a non functional handset.

However PLEASE NO MORE MENTION OF THIS IN THE THREAD>

If you wanna chat about the ins and outs of the warranty and insurance I will be more than happy to inform you, however not in this thread.

Thank You

He's off again!

Not as easy to get a sim free one when you're buying it subsidised under contract. I got mine free with Orange.

why dont you want me to post on this thread? i was just asking questions and alerting people to the dangers, meaning it obviously has worried you as you KNOW that this could happen.

PS i cheked Vodafone and 02s stance on this and they said no insurance or waranty will be offerd for a bricked phone. [addsig]

I am not worried, we are very open in this regard. All work done is at the buyers risk. We have processed more than 100 SE handsets in the past 2 months alone, and have had absolutely no issues. So the chance of error is VERY VERY low.

However in the unlikely event that there is an issue unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility and will not cover the cost of replacement of the handset.

If the phone is damaged by us we will endeavour to fix it of course.

If the handset is damaged in transit it will be covered by insurance through the postal company.

SIMPLE and perfectly honest. So please refrain from crapping on this thread with other topics.

PS if the phone does not turn on then and you tell them this, they will exchange it under your insurance no ifs, not but's, no maybe's as they do not require the reason why it will not turn on.

They are there to note down what the fault is and try through their draconian methods to magically fix it over the phone, they are not there to ask exactly what the happenstance was to have come by this problem.

AGAIN, I reiterate all work done BY ANYONE in this line of business is entirely at the risk of the consumer, please note that NOONE will offer to cover the cost of the loss of a handset.

The online services (DVT Wotan etc.) are the worst for these things, as when their service doesn't work and you have shelled out 50 euros then they ignore you or say tough. We at least will not release the handset until we have it working no matter how many attempts it takes, or if the phone is damaged, then we will tell you and assist you as best possible, however will not cover the cost of replacement.

If you have these worries then it's simple PLEASE DO NOT DEBRAND YOUR PHONE, because there is an element of risk, a small one but there is always a risk in these things.

NO company of person who does this will offer you any better support than we do.

All this waffle about something that has less than a 1% chance of happening!

I say debranding is well worth doing, it makes the phone much better to use.

Having had it done myself i would definately say go for it!

I have had my handset unlocked and debranded, not by seunlock-uk, but by someone local, and I for one knowing all the risks involved would go and continue to get any future handset debranded and unlocked, it is a worthwhile risk to rid ourselves of Orange firmware. You have a choice to make for yourself.

I will continue to applaud seunlock-uk and coxy for providing these services to those that need them.
