A sneak peek of the UIQ3 SMan... I have edited the picture to hide/remove our new icon.
On the application itself, we will update everyone on the future path of SMan since:
1. We can only update it every 6 months.
2. The initial module (Task Manager) uses functions that need signing.
Before that, is anybody willing to sponsor the signed application so we do not need to wait and beg Symbian? Please PM me if you have an idea of speed the signing process.

This looks great, I would be willing to pay an increased price to have UIQ3 SMAN software.
If you based a pricing model on say 10% of the total copies of SMAN that have already been downloaded what do you think your pricing would have to be to cover costs?
Or how about a donor credit poage either on your web site or in the application carryiong the names of people who fund the development of the application, Iwould be interested in making a contribution if its in my budget range.

I cannot change the function of my hardware buttons (mobile provider's choice) so is there a way to include other buttons for performing different actions. for example: when in stand by mode (flip off) clicking the tab button would perform an action (open an app, lock the screen, starting bluetooth,...) |

@all:
I know that we seem quiet so I'll give you an update. Until last weekend, we were having problems with some C++ libraries (you can see Droll's postings at Sony Ericsson Developer's forums) and thanks to the quick response from the site, we have ironed out most of the bugs in our implementation.
Droll has only to fix one other issue we are now facing with doing some background tasks which we are going to implement in a lot of the other modules. Once that has been sorted out, we only need to worry about the feature set for Task Manager (95% complete) and File Manager (40% complete), test them out for TNTBSBYCUI and then a quick unsigned release (offending options will be greyed out), once user feedback and bug reports have been sorted out, we will then get the initial version of SMan signed (under the freeware signed program). The other usual delays are of course our day jobs (I don't think anybody wants to hear this actually) and us sorting out the UI issues. Even with the initial version, we are scratching our heads on how best to implement something in an intuitive manner with the least number of presses/input.
ANyway, once we wort those out, we will then start porting over the other features (from v1.x) into UIQ3's SMan and worry about getting the program signed when we come to it.

@Ajack: Will it have a "flush" option when (auto)locking the keyboard at flipless UIQ 3 phones like the M600i? That's what I really look forward to, well, at least one of the features I expect

Will there be the function to change the system font? I'm so fed up with the P990 Arial 32 font - loved the sman function on P910 that helped me downsize. Will UIQ3 version have that ability too? |
