@Hurst

You would want to wait for the K790a (make it's the "a" version).

3g is Definetly faster/better than EDGE, not sure where you saw on Cingular's website otherwise. The biggest problem is that the K800, being 3G is not compatible with the US/Cingular 3G network AND it lacks the 850mhz frequency which is widely (and expandingly) used by Cingular in place of the Old AT&T 1900 frequency. Right now getting a K800 in the US would be a waste from two points of view - 1) it lacks the 850 frequency as mentioned abovce, which restricts its usefulness on the Cingular network and 2) it lacks EDGE, so even if you live in an area which does not need 850mhz, or are on the T-Mobile network (which does not use 850 nearly as much), you're still lacking any sort of high-speed internet, since you'd be limited to GPRS speeds, which are worse than dial-up.

I'm currently holding off to see if the US released K790 will be tri-band with 850/1800/1900 or (hopefully) a quad-band 850/900/1800/1900, since I would like to use this phone when traveling to Europe (eastern to be exact) where the 900 frequency is used heavily.

@Hurst, why can't you buy the K790i at x1387? Will the "i" version not work in the U.S.? Or just the "a" version?

just looking at the k790i on ebay. All the sellers have listed that they include a 64mb m2 stick. Is this standard with the k790? anyone who owns it here get one? would be very dissapointing if it did as the k800 come with nothing!

re Brendon: I'm on Cingular which needs GSM 850 so I can take advantage of the phone's features...I mean I think the k790i will work, but I definitely won't be able to use it to the fullest of all of its features
