It's useful for video.

Personally, QCIF video with framerate <=15 fps is useless.
resistance is futile. |

Sure, I've uploaded it here http://torch.advanta.se
Make sure that you set the permissions for the midlet to "Multimedia" = No or you will get lots of questions about access to the camera when you run it.
enjoy =)

I reckon the flash is too weak, sometimes the interior shots at night look better with the flash off rather than on.

No, certainly not. The midlet does nothing that the camera does not. What it does is to activate the camera set to night conditions with autofocus, this way the phone will try to get focus and hence activating the the led. You might here a small "click" when the auto focus is activated.
All this can be done thanks to that the phone is JP 7 and has the camera part of JSR 234 implemented. It wouldn't not possible on for example a k750 (JP 6).

The program doesn't change your camera settings does it? Tried the program and it works great, but SE should still add the function so that the phone doesn't have to use the camera hardware when using that led. Great app though. Extra kul att det är ett svenskt program. |

sony ericsson made MXE-60 for k750i because we needed a xenon flash...
someone please send an email to sony ericsson and say we,users of k800, want a MXE -66 (or something) with 2,3,4 leds so we can use it as a torch
that solves the problem  |

No, it doesn't affect anything on your phone, when the midlet exits everyting is back the way it was. Yeah definetly, hopefully they'll implement it in some upcoming firmware version *fingers crossed*.
Fantastisk svensk mjukvara

Better off to email them & ask them for the led torch to be put back on the K800Is replacment.

Wosh! 175 unique downloads of the torch the first 24h. That's surely a bit more then expected =) |
