So you can order this phone as 3G and non-3G? It sounds confusing. I'm hoping to stay on my £30 a month contract and then get a free upgrade...waivering the £50 charge. There's no way I'd pay what 02 are suggesting! Surely if you just cancel your account and then re-open a new one you'd be able to pay just the £50 and not over £100 as some have been told!? |

Oh, and another thing. I got my K750 on 02 more or less one week after it was first released and it too was priced at £50 - a charge I never had to pay! |

Yeah, I've been with then since they were Genie, and never had to pay for an upgrade yet.
Last year they emailed me, telling me I might be paying too much line rental, so I filled in a form and was reduced to £17.99 from £24, which was very nice of them, but am I now paying the price of that, given that they now want me to pay £179.99 for an upgrade?
I've sent an email to the upgrades department anyway, maybe I'll get a better response from then than I did on the phone. (though I just received an automated response, as I type, that suggests it probably won't even be read).

Any one get the feeling that O2, don't want to sell this phone as an upgrade? It really is silly.
As for the person who spoke to "Craig" I got him (or an other Craig), he seemed alright, told me the phone was coming out on the 26th, and when I said why should I pay your silly money to upgrade when I can start a new contract and get it for £50. Just agreed with me and put in the cancelation for me.
My contract runs out on the 16th, although unless they offer me something in the mean time I will order my new contract at the end of the month. |

don't worry about it, you will be able to get it soon enought when its officially released. o2 did the exact same last year with the w800. Preference was for new business. I do agree a wee bit with their strategy as a business they want to get as many new customers as they can and if a new customer cant get it from o2 that day they will just call some other firm that has it on that day. They will probabaly loose less customers doing it this way as its a little more hassle for folk to leave.

K800i velvet black now out in Norway! I've got mine just a couple of hours ago. Retail price is approximately US$ 440 (NOK 2800,-).
Great phone! (I went from the W900)
Note that the new M2 memory card is NOT included at all in the package. But you can buy a 1gb card for approximately US$ 80 (NOK 500,-). I've already ordered one.
Also it includes a new type of charger (same plug though). Smaller, and with handsfree support while charging.
