SERBIA & MONTENEGRO 0 - 1 HOLLAND
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852670.stm
"Serbia and Montenegro fought all the way but the Dutch did enough to secure a narrow and important win in this keenly contested game. Van Basten can celebrate his first victory in a FIFA World Cup game, either as a player or coach. The Oranje can look ahead with confidence to facing C๔te d'Ivoire on Friday while Serbia and Montenegro next face another daunting assigment against Argentina."

MEXICO 3 - 1 IRAN
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852682.stm
"Iran suffered for their late collapse as Mexico finished with a 3-1 win which was arguably harsh on Ivankovic's men. The Mexicans will face Angola in their next match with confidence, but Iran who looked a dangerous side in parts must pick themselves up before facing Portugal."

ANGOLA 0 - 1 PORTUGAL
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852704.stm
"Like England and the Netherlands before them, Portugal one of the teams tipped to excel at Germany 2006 had to settle for a narrow victory where the points mattered more than the performance. Angola can take heart from a battling display, however, on their debut appearance on the world stage."

I think its been great so far, ecspecially with not so big teams like Trinidad & Tobago and Angola playing there hearts and very much so giving the bigger teams quite a challenge! Still we also have to see Togo and Australia show us what their made of and I sure hope they do .

That was a good game, in truth I did want Mexico to win although I think right up until 70+ minutes it was very even, but then Mexico just took it and took advantage of two Iranian mistakes in their defence...

Todays games (GMT +0 London Kickoff Times, UK Channels):
*Australia vs Japan ITV 14:00
*USA vs Czech Republic BBC 17:00
*Italy vs Ghana BBC 20:00
---
Although I want Australia to do well since "have they even been in it before?" but my love for Japan means that I want Japan to win this game. I would like USA to win their first match, like Japan the USA are very much coming into the world of football and like the last World Cup in South Korea & Japan they both did very well and are possibly teams to look out for in the future... or who knows maybe this year? But it will be a tough match since the Czech Republic have proven to be no push overs. The final game of course I will be supporting Ghana, we need more African teams and like I did Angola and Trinidad & Tobago, also soon Togo... I want them all to do well and not to leave without a fight, and all have shone so far and basically given bigger teams like Argentina and Sweden a hard time.
