ouch, now my head really hurts with dem technicalities....
ok... so far we had seen maxie and daz go toe to toe.... i never imagined low-end dedicated cameras were this complicated...
now the topic goes.. can it replace low end dedicated devices? hhmm in certain ways as it was said so many times before... but this goes to show that existing camphones CANNOT eradicate the existence of low-end dedicated devices... coz certain occassions call for certain devices inpromptu, so if you have a camphone its your best choice so far... and knowing its capabilities, youll surely get hold of the situation in gauge of a cameraphone.. (meaning you hafta watch out for exposures, dim environments, can this be lit by the phone which has no xenon lights, blah blah blah). but if the situations are on parties, special occasions camping, boating the events you wouldnt want to miss.. obviously youll pair yourself with a good weapon of choice. (so lets stick to the topic, low end dedicated devices: and not those Leica types) ok got mine, with decent zoom, focus backed up xenon light for low lit environments... then viola, i can print decent shots, well same thing goes for camphones with 2mp and auto focus function...
ok.. i guess everything has been said earlier.. as for me... it CANNOT replace low-end dedicated devices... [bold]BUT[/bold] its solid enough to be an [bold]alternative[/bold] to low-end dedicated devices on impromptu situations.. and on the otherhand, if these camphones being held by a keen user who knows no boundaries (like marlonski on the side)...damn!!! its a weapon of choice! hands down to those fellas who know how to max out camphones these days... i just hope it wont ring while you take luvly shots...
cheers mate! just my 50cents !!!

marls, so you'll be taking your new camera?
But don't forget your old W800 so you can post some sub-tropical beach babes in the W800 thread as well

Max - I may well pick one up at the airport. Aparently Fuertaventura is cheap for electrical goods so I may even pick one up out there. Either way the W800 will be getting plenty of use mate
Mmmm....a few sub tropical babes.....never thought of that

Here are some photos I have taken using my K750i (R1BC002). Note: In the right hands the K750i is far better than a camera, also I sometimes use "Noiseware" a software which allows you to reduce the amount of noise in your mobile photos, which is useful..

camera phones are relatively new and they are so good already. se k750 for eg. but now there is samsung with a 10mp camera phone with optical and digital zoom. what about making some modern digital cameras look obsolete.

Very definitely so.This is the era of convergence as people crave to carry lesser devices on them.Samsung has even announced a 10mp camera phone.Where does it leave dedicated cameras?Nowhere! |

Somebody said that pro photographers will never use cameraphones. He is wrong...

It's the begining of a new era. The market of cheap digital cameras soon will be crashed by mobile phones. Check news from Japan. Cameraphones with optical zoom and 7Megapixels are coming...

There are thousands of low end digital cameras with resolutions all the way up to 5-6MP that still can't take a picture as good as the K750 camera phone. So you are quite simply wrong.

Exactly! My friend has a low end HP (4Mpixel) digital camera. My D750i makes better pictures. |

k750i takes good shots even better than 3.2 cameras sometimes but cameras with 5mp and above are more for proffesional photography. |
