Hi Jan,

Have you used the other applications via the Anycom card? I mean MyPictures, XTND Connect PC, Ericsson Phonebook and SMS Manager, do they work?

Cheers.

2. Are you on XP? did you try it on Win2k?

Jan:

2. any luck on Phone Monitor based application on XP and Anycom BT card

Anycom will have their XP-drivers out in March.

I use Win ME.

I havent yet tried the card with other applications,..e.g. mypictures.
My main concern was to get the notebook-phone-internet-thing working.

The Anycom card,..when you pair it to the phone, will then show the phone's different bluetooth-profiles...e.g. data-transfer, internet connection and so on.
You can then set-up these "channels", as they are called. You have different options here.
The channels also have the option of being LAN or DUN/ordinary data also.
With bluetooth you are either "server" or "client",..this you set up as well.

When I use channel 1, this is my DUN/internet-connection using T-68 as modem.
Then the bluetooth-card/laptop, needs to be a "client".

You can then set the card to be in "discoverable mode" and "connection-mode".

You also have some security-issues with passwords and so on.

Once I push "connect to internet" on the laptop,..the phone lights up, and connects.
Very easy to use

You get a program called FileTransfer, and also software/setup for bluetooth-printing, and "of course" drivers and software for WIN98/ME/2000 and WIN CE (pda).

Pocket pc 2002 software + updated WIN-drivers can be downloaded at the Anycom-site.

I use the drivers and software, that came with the package, works fine.

More bluetooth-profiles will be added in future-software/drivers.

The manual is very good, quite easy to install, and bluetooth-card worked from "day one"

Thx guys.

I've checked the detail in Anycom's website, it shows compatibility with T68 and "Ericsson Sync Software" in the compatibility matrix.

This sound good, maybe i would order it when XP is fully supported, the only problem the lacking of Headset profile.

Wonder if it support Microsoft's implementation of BT stack in time when it's available...

Hi,

It seems the Troy windport Bluetooth PC card is getting cheaper in the UK. It's now available from Blueunplugged for £150.40.

http://www.blueunplugged.com/main.asp?option=productrange&prodID=60

I am really surprised that it's still the only card that supports the "headset profile" and Windows XP.

Owizard : I know that if the cards are upgradeable, you can add bluetooth-profiles.

Anycom states that their cards can be upgraded, e.g. with different profiles.
I believe the other cards will support this too.

New Bluetooth-profiles are being developed, and its just a question of time, before you can choose what profiles you want in your card.

Has anyone here used the Troy Windport card to connect with a T68?

I've been looking into getting one rather than the cheaper TDK card because Windport suports the Headset profile but I notice that the Windport does not support the OBEX profile (look at Bluetooth specs for each at http://qualweb.opengroup.org/Template2.cfm?LinkQualified=QualifiedProducts ). I think MyPicturesR2E.exe etc use OBEX to send files to the phone, so does this mean that ringtones and background pictures will not be able to be sent to the phone with a Windport card? Does this also mean that I won't be able to sync the phone with my Outlook contacts and calendar?

If anyone knows the answer to these questions, please post. Thanks.

The TDK card will do the same as all other bluetooth connectivity devices - enable devices to 'talk' to one another.

Features like sync'ing and picture transfer require specific software which utilise the bluetooth link.

The T68 s/w on the SE site will let you do all this over a bluetooth link [addsig]

totonox,

I've got myself a TDK PCMCIA Bluetooth card from Singapore and i'm almost entirelly satisfy with it. (coming from AmbiCom, this is heaven )

1a. Sync Contact (XTND) - work most of the time, worst is you will have to select from the tray icon to connect the serial port manually. Also notice sometime it just won't connect at all, when this happen, i will have to reset T68 to resolve the problem. (Monitoring the serial port shows phone responding 'ERROR' on all command)

1b. All other Ericsson's Phone Monitor based application works well. Refer to (1a)

2. Seamless connection to the phone as modem, never encounter a single problem

3a. Now, this doesn't work, at least i haven't figure it out yet.
Tried sending from phone, the only thing got through is vCard and vCalender, not *.gif nor *.emy.
3b. Tried sending from PC to phone, nothing works via the send to shell context menu, but manage to sent vCalender over from 'My Bluetooth Places' (didn't try vCard but guess it will work). No luck with *.gif and *.emy
3c. Seems the current software supports only v* (vCard, vCalender, vnt, vmg)
3d. Could use MyPictureR2E to sent picture anyway; or just switch to IR

Addition:
4. from alt.cellular.bluetooth i heard they are testing headset profile and will release instruction on how to set it up soon (it is disabled/hidden by default)

5. don't forget to download the latest software/driver from their website. (more feature and XP support)

6. It bundle with TDK Mobile which works well with my T68, but don't really like it.

7. The software is stable, with neat little things such as signal strength monitoring and works well over standby/hibernate.

Hey Jan

Where did you purchase your Anycom bluetooth pc card and for how much ?

I'm still thinking - can't quite decide which bluetooth pc card I should go for. I might go for the Anycom if the price is not above 2000 dkr.

I can get the 3com for 1300 kr - but can't get any info whether or not this card will work together with T68

Kind regards

Hi

When I purchased HBH-10 Bluetooth Handfree sometime ago, it comes with a DBA-10 Bluetooth phone adapter. This adapter was used together with my old T28 Phone. Since I bought my new T68m, DBA-10 has become obsolete.

I would like to find out does anyone know whether I can wire up this DBA-10 to my notebook direct (Either COM port or USB Port). Instead of paying big bucks on a new Bluetooth PC Card or USD Bluetooth device, I could utilise this left over product for something useful.

I need to find out what kind of Cable to connect DBA-10 with USB port or Com Port and the Driver to use?.

Perhaps jh67, arnoldc or anyone could help me on this

Thanks in advanve
