Any issue of the K750i working with those new 4GB and 8GB Sony MSPD sticks that will be out sometime this year? (i.e. any internal K750i memory limit issues?)
Anyone heard anything about that? |

PM me if you want his ebay details but please be aware of the following.
Please Note: I am not connected to the seller in any way other than having been a customer.
I recomend ONLY on the basis that I had a very good purchase experience.

Buy.com has the scandisk 2gig DUO for $104.95USD with a $25.00 rebate , so it comes out to $79.95USD. |

£29.99 must be dodgy.

You find a lot of fakes on eBay. I advise highly that no-one purchases "high speed" 2gb sony memory stick pro duos off eBay. And if the packaging has a PSP sign in the top right, with Japanese writing beneath it (but still in the PSP circle). These are all fakes!!! My real Sony 2GB, is not high speed and has French writing beneath the PSP sign. It is 100% real.
On another note. 4GB duos will be released around July, at around $250

Hi you seem to know quite a bit about this and I am realy pleased you have posted this as I am sure there are lots of my fellow Esato members who wonder about the reliability of buying from Ebay as stated above I took a chance and bought a 2Gb card from Ebay, mine had what I assume to be Japanese writing all over the packaging but I dont have it now to check if it matched the positioning you mention.
But I can say it works fine, has a proper file structure, and transfers quickly. Are the fakes you mention operational or just pure dummys?
Is your method of Identifying "fakes" based upon personal experience or is it stated elsewhare as a dead give away if so can we have a copy of a source as it may help us all in identifying other fake goods. Thanks again for really helpful info.

From what I have been made aware, the "Fakes" are fully operational, however there are slight size differences which have been known to cause the stick to get stuck... They also tend to split after a few months. This is by going on what I have read on other forums.

Thats why I only buy Sandisk cards as the fakes or copies are Sony Branded. The Quality and speed are the same if not better with Sandisk too.

I just received my Sony High Speed 2 Gb from an ebay power seller with rating of 98+% and feed back of like 23,000 or somethin. It was described as New, Never Opened, but it came in a little pouch wrapped in bubble wrap; no plastic sealed container. I haven't tried it yet, but I fear that it is a fake. It cost me US$95 after shipping.
I'm looking for a way to tell if it is fake or not while I still can get a refund. The only way I've seen so far was in this thread about the slight size difference. Using digital calipers comparing to the 64MB card that came with my k750i:
Height: 1.221" both
width: 0.787" both
thickness: 0.067" 2GB & 0.063" 64MB
Thanks,
chris
