Sent them back.

The 3.5mm adaptor is mono only (it was meant to be stereo, so is obviously faulty) and the Tunecast gives out such a poor signal its not worth having, so that must be faulty too (or just crap).

I'll wait for the MMR-60 now, unless that gives out a bad signal too.

did you test the belkin in a device other than the dodgy converter? Maybe it was that making it look bad? My belkin is adequate. With good battery and within a couple of metres of the radio reception it works fine, certainly heaps better than the cassette adapters.

digital wireless transfers from phone to stereo via bluetooth, sound quality will be stable then. Bring on A2DP I say!

Yes, i tried it with my old N-gage, an old CD player and an old Sony Walkman, it was the same with them all.

I had to stand literally next to the device receiving the radio signal to get any sort of acceptable quality, and then i had to hold the Tunecast in my palm (so using my body as an aerial) to boost the signal.

Ive never been a fan of Belkin products, ive always had bad experience with them, and right now im in the state of mind where i'll never buy anything from Belkin again.

interesting what you say about belkin, etaab. I've had probs too; a router that just wouldn't work (brand new) and a belkin bt dongle that was next to useless (where my Dlink dongle for example worked flawlessly with the same devices).

In fact I wrote belkin about the problem, and they sent me a brand new dongle two days after I emailed them (by overnight express!) So I was very impressed with the service, and the new adapter works fine (and is a BT2/EDR unit). I still have the old one, but it's intermittant and therefore not worth the hassle to try and use.

But it's still gonna take a while for me to trust them. My belkin transmitter though I've never had a problem with. As long as the batteries are good, it works fine (only an effective maximum range of about two metres though, after that the quality drops markedly)

My feeling is that it's not so much the design but the quality control at Belkin that may be the problem. If you write them and complain about your experience with their products they may send you a freebie to bring you back to the fold! It's worth a try. If they want to establish themselves in the market they need to be prepared to show good faith. They certainly showed that to me (I emailed the Australian head office for belkin, sales division and they sent me the replacement no questions asked).

I think you got one of their all too frequent lemons.

Well, back in mid October i emailed them about my Bluetooth dongle that doesnt work. After 2 weeks of emails, they promised to send me a new dongle.

I havent heard a thing since, and they appear to be ignoring my emails.

So your tunecast only had a range of about 2m aswel ? thats crap to say they reckon it should be 10m.

I may have struck one of the few dudes in belkin actually willing to do his job

I was disappointed with the belkin's usable range, but it suits my purposes, which is basically to be able to play my phones music at mates places and in mates cars. I just sit the phone and transmitter near the stereo.

I also carry around an adapter to plug the the hpm-70 into rca or 3.5mm equipment, so the transmitter gets used less and less.

The true solution for portability is the mmr-60, which hopefully offers true 10m range. It also won't need spare batteries to be carried around with it, and inconspicuously mounts on the phone itself (a la ipod's version).

Where it says In Stock.. doesnt the big red N for "no" give it away ?

In Stock:N

Oh, and btw, the release date for the MMR-60 is (apparently) officially 15th December.

Thats two weeks away. I just hope its better quality transmission than the pathetic Tunecast.

Not particularly

I certainly won't be considering Belkin when buying stuff, despite the freebie they sent me. Obviously they still can't get it about customer service, or for that matter quality control, which is more important in the long run. If you're shit don't work, people won't buy it.

Unbelievable!

Hopefully SE will get it right with the mmr-60, which is a much neater solution than the belkin transmitter.
