Did someone at SE with real size fingers try out that keyboard?
Looks like it will be a real PITA to use it on the phone.
Hope to be proved wrong though
@masseur: could you get lots of photos, and try that keyboard?

But if 64mb is enough to run the apps then why would they need to put more in and push up the price?
the W800i has to come with a bigger card as it is marketed as a walkman phone thus the device mus tba capable of storing music. The P series is a phone that you can decided how you want to use it. If you want to store music and films etc then you buy a bigger card. Simple.
I agree though a bigger duo pro would be better but most people will buy the biggest available at the time of launch anyway. |

Why should they send a 128mb msdp stick when u are probably going buy a bigger one anyway?
Also do not compare the p990 to the w800. |

The Magazine Mobil.se has tried it and they claim the kyboard is very nice and easy to use. Much better than the one on P910. Now I don't know if the guy testing it had big or small fingers.
But I guess if you have big hands, then anything smaller than a laptop will be unconvenient to use.

Yeah..why they didn't put at least a 128mb msd??the 144mb are NOT acceptable...
i remind you the amount of memory that p800 had 2 years ago against the competitors...after 1year hold they had to present a mush more revotionary mobile even in the 'memory area' |

Why should the era of an appreciated function such as the jogdail be over ?
The price will be around 649 USD (~525 EUR) to compete with e.g. Nokia smart phones in the N-series.

Then go out and buy one bigger. The cost for you will be the same.

Seems a great phone, they fixed all the nagging details(*) I had with my P900. Only problems I see (that wont prevent me buying it):
Smaller screen. I guess a better keyboard will compensate. Also a fixed keyboard with no moving part may be a good choice durability-wise
64 memory stick. For the same price they should have NOT included
any memory stick but should have enhanced the internal memory.
Better 128M internal rather than 80M + 64M stick. Now everybody
will waste the provided 64M to buy more
still no official support for an easy-usable script language to make
full-fledged apps, as was Psion's OPL... I hope they will follow Nokia
steps and provide a (well integrated) python
(*) memory, data entry, no lens protection, bad camera

lol its not easy to make you guys happy is it?
anyways i love the phone, and by the way its little bit smaller than the p910i.
p990 = 114 x 57 x 26 mm
&
p910i = 115 x 58 x 26 mm

Sigh... the stupid keyboard is really on the phone. Looks like I'm skipping this one. Plus despite the higher screen res, they made the screen smaller... instead of giving it a 400x240 widescreen ratio.
Well, I guess it's still within the P9xx range so I shouldn't expect leaps and bounds in terms of improvements. Everything since the P800 has been very... VERY incremental. UMTS isn't a big enough deal to upgrade from the P910 for me. And that stupid keyboard makes the beautiful P-series look like that dumbass Treo... so nevermind. If I wanted a stupid Treo... I'd get a stupid Treo.
I'm not even gonna get into the ergonomics of all the buttons they now added... and their horrible placement... yes the camera button makes sense when used as a cam, but now can easily be pressed when holding as a phone or PDA. Did they fire all the ergonomic engineers of Ericsson?!?!? Oh well... I guess I can wait another year and hope for something that isn't half-baked and looks like a Sony TV remote.
