re "supercharge EVDO"
apparently, it's not a standard at all. it's just compression software to make browsing experience appear good in benchmarks.

re SuperCharged EVDO
Of course, it’s an added features, the faster the data rate goes (guaranted to be 2Mbps) the higher the price. |

When you say Compression I assume your referring to the DATA throughput. Compression is a combination of hardware & software, & its not just make browsing experience appear good in benchmarks it better be good as advertised! |

ONE: I'm saying that it's not a technical standard. It's a marketing ploy for customers to pay extra for something that is supposedly faster.*
TWO: It's actually a proxy/compression server service. Customer think s/he's getting increased throughput, when in reality they're not.*
Here's what one person from evdoinfo thinks about it.
* as it is a proxy service too, you can feel improved performance when browsing from your network's cache.
of course. |

according to this page, it's possible but not directly.
Better yet, look at the Kyocera KR1 router (or its clone, D-Link DI-725)
The DI-725 is still vaporware though, but the KR-1 isn't |

Yes it’s a marketing ploy.
whenever it’s a wireless connection it’s not always as fast as advertised. Expect to drop as much as 50% or more due to all sorts of reasons, like the distance to a Cell Sites, Signal strength…
5Mbps on wireless that’s equivalent of almost 4 T1 line, I bet the throughput of that 5M EVDO considering the compressions and data error corrections you will end up a fraction of a T1.

its not a clone, KR1 & DI-725 is the same unit
cut & paste from the link of your post
"The first thing to notice, is that the Kyocera KR1 Router has a Powered by D-Link on the front of the router. Apparently, D-Link and Kyocera have been working on this router together. Which means that the KR1 and the D-Link DI-725 are the same router". |

No, the last time I check the definition still the same.
Welcome to the real world of electronic industry my friend, are you familiar of the word OEM?
OEM & Clone in electronic industry are totally deferent entity. With this highly advertise technology with the word CLONE, dude you will be in deep legal litigation.

Let me point out what drives my Post:
Reference:
Kyocera: http://evdoinfo.com/EVDO_Prod[....]_Router_with_WiFi_20050427264/
OEM: http://www.directron.com/oem.html
“Better yet, look at the Kyocera KR1 router (or its clone, D-Link DI-725)” that’s not a CLONE its an OEM.
“The DI-725 is still vaporware though, but the KR-1 isn't”.
Look at the very first sentence of the paragraph of the link, “The Kyocera KR1 Broadband EVDO Router will be available soon”, clearly that’s a vaporware, you got the other way around the D-Link 725 is OEM by Kyocera.

I thought I have to share this to all wireless lovers…
You might have it in your household but you haven’t unleashed to its potential.
An additional inventory to your wireless arsenals..
It has a superb Video quality, an exceptional wireless download capability and web browsing speed, MP3, MPEG 4 on the go.
Just don’t blame me if any friction may arise (father & son). Yeah, Sony PSP that’s what I’m talking about, not only for gaming you can use it too as your wireless (WiFi) Internet.
