The HPM-70 has a 3.5mm audio connector and comes with earbud headphones standard but you can use any audio equipment with a 3.5mm jack. Using adapters you can plug the phone into your stereo if you want. or an FM transmitter. or ur nice headphones.

You can also then use the mike on the HPM-70 if you have it clipped to your lapel, and using your bt headphones thru the 3.5mm to bt adapter you mentioned.

This is bad news. How dumb.

But lordlupins work around is the most appropriate so it seems.

K750i -> Adapter to 3.5mm -> bluetooth adapter supporting A2DP

Then you'd have a headset which links to the adapter for music and to the K750i directly as hands-free headset.

I hope I got the concept right.

Though I imagine the media-buttons on such headsets would be useless, as the bluetooth adapter cannot send the commands to the phone over the 3.5mm cable, right?

Before buying a seperate bluetooth adapter, I'd get a headset which has it included. Example: http://www.planex.net/product/bluetooth/bt-01hss.htm

Other thing: I just found this on alibaba.com:

See here.
I tried contacting the company but my mail bounced with an error.
Also, on the website it doesn't say anything.
Anyone seen this thing before? I think it looks really good...

It looks like these are the only real stereo bluetooth headsets around at the minute. BT 2.0 and AD2P. Hopefully the P990 will be compatible with these and by the time it's released I would like to think the price would be a little cheaper by then, as it's a little pricey at the moment:

Well...I can see that adding the dongle to the bottom of the phones will work, but beware!!

If you buy the Itech BlueCon bluetooth audio dongle this will only work with itech bluetooth headphones! I found out to my cost that this is the case.

However.....

I am now using my ipod with the BlueCon II connected to it , together with my Itech BlueBand headset.,...this gives me glorious stereo music!....at the same time my K750i is paired to the headset...and when a call comes in it cuts the ipod off and allows me to have my phone call...at the end of the call the ipod music is restored.

I know it isn't perfect....but better than nothing.,...now what do I do with my Anycom bluetooth headset!!!

Cheers

I have just bought a pair of iTech Blueband headphones & discovered that the phone won't play music on them even though iTech say their product is compatible with the K750i.
Having read the posts on this thread I know understand why. The K750i does not support A2DP & therefore incapable of streaming stereo music thru its bluetooth stack.
Thank God for forums!
But is the solution "K750i -> Adapter to 3.5mm -> bluetooth adapter supporting A2DP"?
Should I buy a iTech bluetooth audio dongle?

I made an error (new member!) & this was an empty post for several days & nobody seems to notice or care, which unfortunately also seems to be the case for my other 2 posts; Oh well....

What about if I connect an iTech USB Bluetooth V2.0 dongle to my SonyEricisson K750i, via its data cable? Do you think I will be able to listen to the stereo music output of the phone on my iTech Blueband stereo headphones?

Argh im annoyed about this, but theres nothing i can do.

One question is this a hardware or software problem, or could it be added in a new firmware or not?

Thanks Adam

Giles@Cad, you cannot use a bluetooth dongle that way. A K750 has no drivers built into the firmware that would allow it to access or use the hardware of the bluetooth dongle, so even if you buy a female to female connector to plug the dongle into the usb cable, it still won't do what you want.

The only way is to use an fm trasmitter such as the mrr-60, or to plug a portable blutooth A2DP unit into the 3.5mm jack of the hpm-70, then listen to the audio via the A2DP unit's wireless headphones.

hi again guys,

i went ahead and bought the i-tech bluetooth dongle and the adapter to connect the k750i to it (K750i -->> adapter to 3.5mm -->> i-tech bluetooth dongle) and now it works fine. it is a bit annoying having an adapter and a dongle attached to my phone but it's better than having wasted my cash on the headphones and a 2gb memory card for my phone.

The only problem i have is that the adapter is a bit dodgy and one side of it falls out a lot so i have to wrap a rubber band round the top and bottom of my k750i if i want to listen to music.

All in all it's a hideous bulky contraption i have and if, like me, you are also annoyed at having bought a k750i and memory card and headphones, only to find out it doesn't work, i suggest we all email sony ericsson and harrass them until they give us a firmware upgrade.

Cheers

I can confirm that w800 doesn't support ad2p. I have bluetooth headphones (Creative, comes with a bluetooth dongle) and I tried to pair it with the phone, without the dongle, and the phone can't find an available device/service to pair it with (it detects it though). I then inserted the dongle to the 3.5mm jack of the headsets of w800 and it works. Well, I prefer to having the wired headsets instead. This bluetooth headsets don't look cool if you carry them around in the street .

The one I am using is here:

Hello all - I am sorry to gravedig but I thought people concerned with this topic might be interested in this idea.

According to
http://www.robertwebbe.nl/A2DP.html
the new w700i, essentially a watered-down w800i BUT it supports A2DP. I was going to try and flash my k750i to a w700i and see what happens. Expected effects are the loss of autofocus (the w700i doesn't have that, but I can live without autofocus for wireless love) and the addition of A2DP.

Well, the first issue I wanted to address was if anyone has a w700i and can confirm the A2DP profile. Secondly, I was wondering if anyone might give me a reason not to do this. Just an idea, thanks for your time.
