HIDING MEDIA FILES in w800i (should work on k750i n w550i as well)
i have no idea if this has already been POSTED before...but what the heck!
as we know that all of us have certain things stored in our mobiles which we want to keep away from others' view, for instance video clips, images. SE doesn't provide a folder lock. So when ur friend accidentally turns on the Walkman, goes to Videos, and then : WHAT THE **** ! all the vids u stored n wanted others not to see them, are all out in the open. Well, here's a simple way to avoid this kind of 'embarrassment'. for this u'll need to connect ur mobile to the PC...
1>connect ur mobile to the pc using the USB cable, as u would normally, to transfer files
2>open the REMOVABLE DRIVE(memorystick/mobile memory)
3>now go to the folder where u initially saved ur 'classified' videos, CUT (copy+x) the files. (this is to move the files to a much 'SAFER' location...lol)
4>come out of the folder and go to the EXTERNAL MEMORY folder, doubleclick OTHERS, make a NEW FOLDER of any name u want and PASTE(control+v).
(u might want to save the PASTING part for now n do it in step 6)
# if you follow through steps 1-4, the problem of unwanted videos showing up in the WALKMAN should be solved.
now here's the trick one step further...this one is to 'visibly hide' the unwanted files in ur mobile..lol
5>after u have made a NEW FOLDER in the OTHERS folder, make about 10 more folders with 'NEW FOLDER' as the folder name in this manner:
NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/NEW FOLDER/
so now we have NEW FOLDER inside NEW FOLDER inside NEW FOLDER inside NEW FOLDER inside NEW FOLDER ......n so on...
6>now paste the videos, images u want to hide in the LAST folder in the loop.
from now on, when ur fren or bro opens the OTHERS folder, he'll find nothing but a folder named NEW FOLDER. and if he's snoopy enough and opens the folder, he'll again find NEW FOLDER...this will keep on happening until he opens all the 10 folders.(u can make as many folders as u wish...the more the better). but i don't think anybody who hasn't read this post would want to do that!
i think this should do the trick.....
i have an elder brother who's always a 'SNOOPY '...and this one worked for me...

This option to use the camera in music only mode doesn't work for me. I am K750i flashed to W800i, using this firmware (I think!).

I too jave tried using WMP on my K750, but the media player isn't smart enough to look for songs outside of it's MP3 folder on the Memory Stick.
And WMP isn't smart enough to put songs into any other than 'Music.' Stupidly.
Another example of Microsoft making decisions for us!

Well when I tried using WMP with W800i, it picked it up as removable disk, but when transferring the songs it converted them to WMA format. So they were on the memory stick but of course didn't register on the phone.

You know, for R1BC002 version, the camera function in flight mode will play like this:
1. set auto keypad lock on
2. restart your phone
3. when prompt you to choose mode, do nothing, wait the keypad auto locked
4. open your shutter
now free to shoot anything, |

my r1bc dfoesn't need to be autolocked - I can access camera at start menu just by locking the keypad manually. However once I go into the media player, I can't use the camera again until the phone has been fully started. ie: even if I restart the phone, unless I let the phone start up fully before I restart I won't be able to use the camera in flight mode.

here's another trick (probably you already know it) - you can access the memory card via usb cable while the phone is in flight mode! No need to turn phone on to download the pics you just took, or to copy a song to the phone without having to exit flight mode.
Cooool!
