Market share is no guarantee of future success.

Neither is a smartphone (P800) with a 1500$ SDK nor an ugly looking phone (T300) intended for young people...

Btw, I find it very stupid that SE tries to battle Nokia by charging 1500$ for something that Nokia offers FREE (SDK). They're acting like _they_ have 7 times bigger market share and not the other way around. I'm afraid that SE is looking at a very grim future...

Who here thinks Faca has shares in Nokia?!

The way he is going on you'd think he is part of a nokia propaganda campaign. I've nothing against nokia, they are the only phones I have ever had but things are really looking up for SE. I've not liked anything nokia has released lately so my next phone will be a T68i or P800.

Has anyone here used a P800 with working T9? Couldn't get it to work on the one I tried, and I think it is something important for me to have in a phone. Don't really fancy typing an SMS with handwriting recognition!

Looks very nice:)

One of the other Forum members sent me over the SE "white book" for the P800....as a very proud T68 owner I think I can safely say that Nokia won't be making my next phone;)

Roll on November:)

Hey guys, I think Faca is not a stock holder nor a propaganda agent of nokia. Were givin him too much credit I guess. And i'm sure most Nokia investors, employees and fans will be insulted if were goin to put Faca in their league. Furthermore, we should'nt let anger clouds our objective minds, instead we must be carefull and sympathetic towards this person--desperately seeking--for attention.
So my advise to Faca is this: Sell your nokia phone(s) (ASAP) then go and give yourself a much needed vacation. Ha... ha... ha...

P.S. -- If you want you can visit the famous beaches of the Philippines. And dont feel sorry about your phone cause your sanity is more imp. than those junk.

Why is everybody attacking me? Because I don't like what SE's doing and I don't think that they have a great future? Well, I'm sorry if I somehow offend you by saying bad things about your precious SonyEricsson, but it is a well known fact that things aren't going very well for SE. Perhaps if you weren't so busy reading the P800 specs over and over again, you'd notice articles like this one:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/59/26878.html

or:

http://www.bwcs.com/marketing/index2.cfm?subcat=4&id=1&findid=1520#1520

So, unless SE doesn't somehow miraculously boost it's sales, in two quartes it is gonna go bust. And the fact that their market share is going down and that they're putting all their money on that ugly-looking T300, is only more proof that SE isn't going to be around for much longer.

Oh, and about P800... It is not intended for mass market, so it isn't going to help SE much. And, I certainly wouldn't want to buy something as expensive as P800 from a company that probalby won't even exist anymore in 6 months. Who will support the phone then? What about bugfixes and firmware updates? P800 might sound like a great new gadget, but that certainly isn't good enough of a reason to buy it. Sometimes you just have to look beyond the fancy specs and pictures...

I almost believe Faca's retorics. At first i thought... wow, at last Faca hit it right in the eye. Because I must admit, those first two paragraph of Faca's reply really make sense. And if I may be permitted to add, I'd certainly say BRAVE IS THE MAN WHO SHALL STAND FOR THAT UGLY T300, and BRAVER STILL THOSE S.E. EXEC. FOOLS WHO REST THY FAITH IN ITS SUCCESS!
But as much as i wanted to agree with the whole story of Faca, I can't convince myself to let the bankrupt conclusion, that he tried so hard to smuggle, passed unnoticed. I love it when someone perform those trick, ...its like finding some undeniable fault or legitimate blunder, then include your own biased ideas (which in your experience is impossible for others to believe), mix it together and booom... your arguments will seem like a valid proposition in the blink of an eye. Your cloaked malice shrouded with reason will now be accepted as you have planned.
But nay Faca old fool, you have to do a lot better than that. Because the P800 (if specs proves to be true) is powered by a Symbian O.S. capable of upgrade, even if SE call it quits, and I know that you know more than this, and i do not need to explain it much further. YOU CAN READ AGAIN THE P800 SPECS IN S.E. WEB SITE MY DEAR FACA. GO NOW IF YOU MUST BUT FIRST HEAR THIS:

THE P800 IS A GADGET EVERY DECENT PERSON DREAMS -- EVEN IN BROAD DAY LIGHT!

Scoota and Lebowski, when will you be going back to the dealer showroom to check out the P800? I have a semi-professional 3 ccd-videocamera (Sony TRV-900) and could join you for some quality video (that's without the focus pulls, shaking and color fading of your first attempts , I can upload hi-quality movies in quicktime or mpeg-4.

Faca

If you don't want to get slagged off, try and post balanced comments. If you want to be unremmittingly negative towards se, why do you spend your time in this forum?
You do have some valid points, I'm not too impressed with the design of the T300 and the P800 is not going to be a volume seller, more like the Nokia 8810 was when it first came out, a bit of a status symbol that people want, but don't necessarily need. Of course the P800 will be that because of it's features, where as the 8810 was just design.
Anyway, back to my point, if I look at your post history, all but about 2 of them involve you saying how much you dislike the P800... Have you not got anything constructive to say?

I think the P800 is great.. but its just plain too big.. and I really dont like the idea of how you got to carry the camera around whenever you go and at times when you are 100% sure you dont need a camera. The idea of bringing something you dont need is just stupid... I rather have the plug on cam so I can put it on whenever I need and at the same time, my phone can be smaller when cam not needed... If only P800 have a detachable cam and is the size of the T68 then it will be perfect phone for me.

Well... that's the question, Faca... And here's the answer:

... Give up that bad taste provocative agressiveness and post your comments in a smoother way! I think it can do no harm that in every group there are people who disagree with the general opinion. Group-thinking is dangerous because everybody has the same opinion (which can lay upon false information), and the ones who disagree with that (and maybe hold the truth) are afraid to express their views because of the group pressure.

Now come on, Faca, go on teasing us if you want, and as long as you have reliable-against-the-flow-information I don't care. But stop considering people in this forum a bunch of frustrated tech-freaks!!! You might like being provocative, but I'm not sure this is the right place...

Greetz & peace on earth (and in this forum)!

the p800 is naturally big due to it is also a PDA. have any of you seen a PDA the size of the t68i? me i have not yet. i like all the p800's specs and i can use the camera to take a shot of someone when i add his info to the phone. if the need arises for me to use the cam but i did not bring it then it would be a loss to me. i am not that lazy to carry around the p800 and to me it is better to carry only 1 thing than to carry 2 things like a pda and a mobile phone or a cam. to the guy here who hates SE, better give away your SE phone and get a nokia instead.

I'm quite the oposite about carrying a camera around. I've never had one as such before, But I'm sure if I had one with me then I might be inclined to take snaps. Looking back I can rememeber a million times previous, that I would have loved to take a photo of somthing, but never had the chance. A lost moment now, one that I might never be able to experience again.

Another plus note is when you go somewhere that doesn't allow camera's, they might not think of checking your phones
I went to a night club a few weeks back, and the bouncers took a camera off my mate, prolly so they won't get caught beating someone up...

I'm really looking forward to the camera aspect of the phone.
