hi guys, where's u all? thanks mamba, just successfully d/led opera mini on my vmobile enabled siemens S55, and its running a lot faster than on my mtn-SE T610 combo. I just wish it would transfer data when used for pc-modem connection.
@Aya: you told me sometime ago that the S55 had a built in modem. I have the data cable and cd, but there's no modem driver on it. where can I find one?

Sorry to interrupt... But MTN just zapped 195 bucks for less than a minute of web browsing! I was just opening the websites for heavens sake. Well, it was good while it lasted. BEWARE EVERYONE.

You guys take things easy. You had fair warning. If its true MTN is charging 75 kobo per kilobyte, what were you thinking attempting to browse webpages on it? You don't have to say goodbye to MTN GPRS - just stay on WAP ;-)

It sure is goodbye to mtn, why should I pay 75k\kb when I can pay 70k on glo 4 the same service? plus the rumoured free night browsing. I'm not crying over my N166, I've actually been expecting it. just that mtn never informs u b4 implementing its decisions. glo gave us a tariff & date 4 commencement of gprs billing weeks, b4 it started & kept to it. mtn is yet to officially announce tariffs ?:(

Guys, I have NO REGRETS! I N-joyed MTN GPRS to the fullest. Here is a list of what I did....

With a downloaded a web copier, I was able to download all of our posts in PNF (from day 1), all of MobileNigeria.com and NairaLand's Phones Forum. Priceless stuff for research.

My desktop is littered with stuff like a download accelarator, Yahoo Messenger with Voice, Antivirus, JAVA games and Skype

(I was able to try Skype out too. It looks like Yahoo Messenger and allows U to make free VOIP calls. 50 million Users!)

MTN GPRS also gave me Opera... a truly wonderful browser.

And no one here complained about me vanishing act during the MTN freebie period.

But, I had a lot more fun at Prodigits with 30 buddies... mostly babes. I have even progressed to talking with some on the phone. (hmmm) In fact, I spend more time there than here these days, I hate to admit.

All of these for free. NO REGRETS!!!

Who is next?
