Don't really get what's so great about that, yeah it's pretty cool how you can change the focus after taking the picture. It's cool, but is it really practical I mean look how massive that is plus the fact that surely when taking the shot you can just focus the part you want focused? Also the resolution of the photo looks very square like...
am I missing something here?

It is in a very early stage, further down the road, we will probably see this technology in all cameras.
One very cool feature is the 3D capabilities, both for pictures and video (in a couple of years)
Basically, the sensor detects the angle and distance of the light. With a little help from computers and trigonometry we can choose the focus or to make it 3D. So instead of having 2 cameras for 3D shooting you'll only need one.
And it's big because of the lenses...

No flagship phones for 2011.
Nozomi will be relesead in 2012 and will compete will galaxy s III. It is sad for becouse galaxy s III will have 12 MP bsi sensor with 1/2.3 sensor size that will beat in camera performance.
I don't think so
The Exmor Sensor as found in the Arc, iPhone 4S etc. is the best camera phone sensor to date.
I'm pretty sure it'll be the same with the new 12mp sensor.

Guys,Nozomi will most likely have a 16.2MP sensor. There is no 12mp exmor r mobile sensor in the market.Remeber when arc leaked, eldar said that the prototype unit could shoot just 3mp pictures? It's because it's not the final unit yet.Plus the japanese s007 phone from ,can shoot at 16mp/12mp/8mp/3mp/0.3mp,so 12mp is a resolution that the 16mp sensor can shoot. |

Ah, well that is good news. At least can stay ahead in imaging at least.

In 2010 I think the camera is one area which really helped SE sell the X10, it had an 8MP camera where no other Android phone on the market at the time had this (the galaxy s only had 5MP). If Nozomi does have a 16MP camera and Samsung's attempt on 12MP then this could influence peoples discussion, although on the other hand 12MP might be seen as enough for most people, and although Megapixels aren't as important as things like sensor size it's what comes across in the marketing and advertising that makes it important.

The '5.0 megapixels is enough' argument makes me laugh, really, ever since the K800i people have been saying 2.0MP is enough.
If people don't want to use 16MP then take it down a peg to 12MP or 9MP.

Kaz Hirai: Sony is 'in discussions with non-Sony companies' over PlayStation Suite

Good guess. Probably. Hardware makers will slap the suite on their tablets, no real effort either. |

Blame it on for screwing PLAY... It was launched at a very very high Price if the price was below ARC then it would have been a hit and also there where very less games during Launch.. |

the play has nothing special apart from the software and the PSP keys which are irrelevant given that PS Suite could still work on just touchscreen, and Neo and Pro can outperform Play's imaging and display hands down while being much cheaper. So for a mere comfortable gaming experience SE was asking too much. Xperia Play should be priced the same or even lower than Xperia Mini Pro imo, and should have they done that before, the 3DS will never be a success and the game titles will flow like an unending stream,.. how frustrating it didn't happen that way

So true.....given the specs of the device,it should never have launched for more than 300euros.After all,it targets teenagers,so it must be priced accordingly.
I think everyone here should agree that the arc should never have launched for more than 400euros,the neo/pro/play for more than 300euros,and the mini/minipro for more than 200euros.Sony Ericsson always screws with early adopters. |

Seems like we're lacking some info about Nozomi lately, also with Aoba, when can we have a new 12-16mp camera phone again. This was SE's strength since they started redeeming themselves after K850/C902/W902/C903 cameras disappointed us. SE likes trailing behind others lately, as if playing-safe, i kinda missed their bold attempts to wow the consumers, like what Satio did. i think that phone wasn't really a bad phone, if only it used a better OS.
