It does as well! I guess i must have been used to the K850 making it really obvious, it looked like it was just dimming because you hadn't touched any keys for a while. Thanks!

Playing around with my gf's brand new c905 since yesterday:D
It's a pity that it doesn't have a video camera; not that I'd use it but it's a £360 phone. I'm buying the phone on a contract on Wednesday probably, can't wait!
I've got a couple of questions:
Yesterday I flashed the phone with the customized western eu firmware. So far so good, no problems at all (and believe me, I was torturing it the whole day). I was wondering, what exactly is the customized firmware? What's the difference from a plain generic? Just for the record, the phone was on orange uk and the firmware sucked so badly and was so laggy. Huge difference noticeable right away.
Also, what's the little black whole near the ear speaker? it's right where my k800's video call camera is, but there's no cam.
Lastly, I hate the Orange logo on the phone, under the screen. I was wondering if it was just stuck over the normal cybershot logo, because it seems like it to me.
It does have a video mode. When you'r in camera mode press the hardware button nexto the shutter button. It toggles beween still a video.
As for the firmware, I presume you used DaVinci to flash. Davinci calls generic firmware "Customized". Don't know why...it's confusing to begin with...but the Davinci customized is the SE generic.

Hi All,
Which is the best web browser to use with the 905? The default Sony one seems to display mini HTML pages or something. |

Yes, if you rebrand to a customised firmware you will lose all the orange branding and programmes and icons etc. It will have the original SE themes. And you'll have to reload the organge settings...but you can do that from the SE website and get automatic settings sent to you as messages.
But you're phone should run much fast and smoother without all the extra orange stuff.
If you don't like the customised/generic firmware you could always use Davinci again to reload the orange firmware.

I like the Sony browser..but you could always put Opera Mini...it works very well on C905's |

but the Sony browser (on mine) only shows mobile versions of the pages! Or am i missing something simple. |

I think it's showing you the full webpage but it automatically renders it for mobile phone...ie makes it one column. And lots of websites will recognise the browser as being on a mobile phone and will automatically render it too.
Try opera mini...it gives you the full webpage and you can zoom in on bits of it.

Good phone, very much a return to form for the Cyber-Shot range.
Got one of these in the inca last week.
The main issue I have had with it so far is the fact that the built in browser does not work properly with forums, but it's not really a problem as I have downloaded opera mini.
The picture quality it produces is very high, not far off my i8510, but it has more versatility because of the flash. |

FHM and Sony Ericsson have announced a promotion with C905. The picture taken for the ad was taken with a C905

Just read Eldar's updated review, and it seems that C905 is an even worse phone this time around
Still lovin' it though! |

Although once again it's based on prototypes.
