Hello evwryone. I ma Chirag from Mumbai,India. Its been a long time I wanted to upgrade my phone. I had zeroed in on Xperia z1. I had almost planned to buy it until i heard about the yellowish tint and poor display issue. I am now really confused whether to go ahead and take a risk of buying this phone for 40k INR. I am now thinking of waiting till January. But i really dont know whether to wait or no? I hope the issue is solved by that time or at least sony acknowledges it and gives replacements.
What is ur suggestion guys? When will Z2 be launched? |

the z1's camera seems much faster than the 1020.
What's even more surprising is the 920.. it seems like WP is struggling with the camera..
The 808 is around the 2 sec mark.

I know there are others software alternative, but I prefer the walkman apps cuz it looks great. Z1 white paper says it suppose flac why doesn't it music player app play it. |

i can't play flac with my walkman app either. apparently it works for some and not others. perhaps it has to do with a specific encoding? who knows. i don't listen to much flac so it's not a real concern for me. especially since there are 3rd party apps that can play it.
random note. and maybe everyone knew this but i didn't til just now! i was organizing my app tray and realized I can access the app tray menu from anywhere. By app tray menu, i mean the slide out menu that appears when you continually swipe to the right and lets you choose how to sort your apps and uninstall, etc. anyway, i seem to remember walk throughs and reviews that would say it was inconvenient that this menu would only come out by swiping all the way back to the first tray, but apparently you don't have to!
if you pull from the left edge of the screen from any of the trays, you'll get the menu. ignore me if this is something everyone knew already.

So do people think this is the best camera on an android phone?
How strong is the led flash and can it light a room up? Also how good is the 3x clear zoom, is it much better than digital zoom? |

@northmonkey I do think the Z1 has the best camera on any Android device that would also include the S4 Zoom (unless its a flash test). The reason I think its the best is mainly down to the fact that anybody can take decent shots in SA mode and if you spend time with manual mode and tinker about with the settings it can take some fantastic shots that no Droid can match. One other thing I like is the camera UI which I also think is best among Android. Yes manual controls can be a bit subjective in the lack of shutter speed and so on but these are things Sony could bring with future updates and if the camera progresses like the one on the Z which did'nt have the best camera at launch but did get better as time goes on then I'm sure the Z1 will be a contender for best camera phone for some time to come. 
The LED light is decent enough for close objects and will probably light up a small room enough to take a decent image.
I never us the zoom on a phone but the 3x clear zoom again is ok but would only recommend it if it is needed maybe just best to crop your image and see what you think is best.
I have just take 2 photos very quickly one with flash and one without
as you can see there was only a tiny anmount of ambiant light coming from the PC monitor in the room at the back. This is not done to show the quality of the photo but the power of the LED flash.
