Hi guys in your opinion when ordering directly from Sony are there more possibilieties to recieve a "good display" Z1 unit? based on the facts that maybe they would send you the last produced one which maybe have no leftovers (if the leftovers display leak is true)...
I'm asking beacause ordering from them in the School Online Store the Z1 costs 579€ instead of 689€!!!
Dude, please Dont buy Z1 and there is really issue on the Z1 screen(panel lottery) and I suggest you to wait for January and lets all defective moves out but still not sure..
either if you have " MOOGOO"s Luck you get a Good one or like me if you then may be Bad one and pain in your ass......
If i wait till january then I'll go with Z2 I'm considering every option more or less.. thank you for the advice |

i feel like vikeviki is bitter toward me
@crownedakuma - i would say go for it. if you have an issue, it's an easy return to sony and then just wait for Z2. but if you got a great screen you're happy with, then WIN! that's what i'd do anyway.
@scwam2 - strange. i don't know what to tell ya. i have experienced no lag and i am a very impatient person haha. i'm always pushing where i know buttons will appear and i've never had any issues.

Guys trust me Sony service is worst ever in my country ,its been two months I am not able to use the phone,I am sure there is panel lottery and pushing out to developing countries where no QC done, hence suggesting you to wait for January apart from US/Japan people.
Finally I am going to Consumer Court for cheating me on this phone,Sony You are really bad..
I better take money back rather than going with Z1,I guess its a failed phone making few more drawbacks from you..,,
Trust me guys I am not trolling,Sony failed once again.60:40 ratio success
Note:honest feedback on SONY
Moogoo,I am not lucky like you and 2 months just passed away and couldn't enjoy xperia Z1

I know a bit of your post history (at least from here and on the Rumor Thread) and I do not think you are a troll... absolutely In fact I'll weigh your opinion in my choice...!
also I know Italy is in trouble but it's not a developing country already on the contrary... it's going on reverse course full gas without brakes! YAY |

vikeviki - if i was lucky i'd win the lottery, but the past three times of not matching a single number determined that I am indeed UNLUCKY.
also, Z1 isn't really even in the US (LTE version that is), so yea. not really an option. I imported mine from the UK too.

The screen on Z1 is spot on head and shoulders above the Z when put next to each other. I have had mine since launch dayvin the UK (20th of September) I also work in a mobile phone shop and not one single customer has ever complained about the quality of their screen. And because of the success of the Z1 in my store Sony are sending me to Las Vegas all expenses paid for 4 nights in the Bellagio penthouse suite in February I cant wait woo hoo

I did connect 7 devices/could not find more around the house/ to Z1 with no problems.
About screen issues...Let's all wait till year 2076, am sure Sony will fix it till then....but until then...just shut up and be satisfied with small things you get in life....you do not win lottery every day, do you?!

So I have been doing further investigation on this yellow-tinted screen issue.
And I stumbled upon this post on XDA forum...
---
What I can tell is this:
I removed ASF before even turning it on. (I use liquid glass shild)
- on .518 it was beautifully tuned
- .534 which I was just briefly on, was super yellow
- .257 Something in between the two earlier ones
I think some of all the complaints surfacing can be attributed to this, and not just "faulty units"

---
I'm really hoping that there's some truth to what this guy said. Perhaps anyone here can confirm...?
I hope the next firmware, which should be coming out soon if Sony keeps their promise, will calibrate the screen better and fix this yellow-tint issue.

How can I tell for sure I have one of the bad screens? My viewing angles are perfect up to about 35 degrees left and right, less vertically. I have serial #BH9032T from England. Also wondering if the lag I get upon bootup and occasional auto-shut-off of the camera due to high heat is worthy of a return here in China since I bought it from England. Additionally, I can make my phone get quite warm to almost lightly hot if a take a few minutes to run different apps.

Just thought I'd give my opinion of the Z1, I've had my one since release and usually by now I'd be looking at getting another phone because something is wrong with it lol, but strangely enough I'm not, I haven't even considered it.
The screen on my unit is crisp and clear, no yellow bits like on my old xperia s.
The viewing angles are great, but I prefer viewing it from 360°
It's fast and lag free, no problems at all in this department, I leave my phone's WiFi and data on constantly with all my stuff syncing.
And the camera is capable of taking some stunning shots but I do think Sony need to improve it after all their marketing hype about it.
All in all I'm very happy with my Z1.

I have similar story to you and couldn't agree more - I often ask myself a simple question, if I wanted to change the Z1 for something else ? I honestly cannot think of anything that would fill the gap, there are just so many good things in one device I don't think there's anything out there that offers such a complete package - all the boxes are ticked |
